Initially wanting to be a professional dancer, he later pursued this and became a dancer with the
Ginger Rogers revue. He also danced for several years with
Debbie Reynolds and
Ann Miller. However, in 1981 a heart problem forced him to retire as a dancer, after which he settled in Las Vegas, writing for movie magazines, doing TV commercials, and narrating shows at hotels there.
