While a student at Wilson High in Long Beach California in 1956, she
was working as a box office cashier at the Lakewood Center Theater when it was held up. The movie playing was her second film, Song of the South (1946).
Her parents were Harvey T. Patten and Alma Miller who lived in Enid,
Oklahoma until 1937. They moved to Long Beach, California to be near
other family members.
