Millions of people around the world remember when Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) tied the knot on April 29, 2011.
The day was quite busy for the couple. After their nuptials in front of 1,900 people at Westminster Abbey, the newlyweds greeted thousands of well-wishers from the balcony of Buckingham Palace before attending a luncheon at the Palace hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II with 600 guests followed by a dinner reception hosted by then-Prince Charles for 300 guests.
Here’s more on William and Kate’s big day including who had a hand in selecting their wedding music and which room of the Palace was turned into a nightclub.

A new book claims Queen Elizabeth was infuriated over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s claims they asked permission to name their daughter Lilibet. Reports state the Duke of Sussex asked the monarch for her blessing, but that may not have been the whole truth. An aide close to the late queen states Elizabeth was “as angry as I’d ever seen her” upon learning of the news.

Camilla Parker Bowles took on a new title after King Charles ascended the throne. Following the highly anticipated coronation, Camilla is now formally recognized as Queen.
However, when Charles’s reign comes to an end and Prince William ascends the throne, Camilla will acquire an additional title. Her new title will correspond to her updated status within the monarchy, and royal watchers might be surprised by her new designation.

Admittedly, even in present times, it isn’t exactly shocking when members of the royal family marry their (distant) relatives. Royals all over the world have been marrying their cousins for centuries, traditionally as a means of strengthening their political alliances. These days, it happens mostly by chance — for example, although she is considered a commoner, Kate Middleton is actually distantly related to her husband, Prince William. They are 11th cousins once removed.
That being said, the last royal couple most would ever have suspected of being related are Prince Harry and American Meghan Markle. But believe it or not, they are. And we can’t help but wonder if they may have suspected it.

As the U.K. gears up for King Charles III‘s coronation on May 6, one person who attended Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953 is sharing how then-Prince Charles acted during the ceremony for his mother all those years ago.
Charles was just four years old when his mom became queen. While his sibling, Princess Anne, was deemed too young to attend the ceremony, Charles was present for the crowning and seated between the queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, and The Queen Mother.

Camilla Parker Bowles will be crowned queen consort alongside King Charles III. The title of queen consort is different than other royal family titles and is symbolic rather than powerful. Historically, the number of women who have held this title are very few. Why is the significance of a queen consort, and who has held the title before Camilla? Here are the details.
Camilla, Queen Consort | Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images Camilla’s status will not change within the royal family when she is crowned queen consort
According to Express, Camilla’s title, queen consort, will not change her status within the royal family. It is a role that rests entirely on her marriage to the king. This means she will not ascend to the throne if Charles dies before her.
A consort does not share the monarch’s political or military powers unless required to act as regents. In any event,...

Prince Harry and Princess Margaret friends? It’s what the Duke of Sussex thought should’ve happened because, as he shared in Spare, they’d had “so much in common.” Ahead, what Harry knew about Queen Elizabeth II’s younger sister (spoiler: not much) and why he thought of her before proposing to Meghan Markle.

Harry might’ve spent holidays with her and the rest of the British royal family, but the now-38-year-old admittedly didn’t know his great-aunt, the Countess of Snowdon, well.
“I didn’t know Princess Margaret, whom I called Aunt Margo,” Harry wrote in Spare (via Town & Country). “She was my great-aunt, yes, we shared 12.5 percent of our DNA, we spent the bigger holidays together, and yet she was almost a total stranger.

The Duke of York, Patron of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Rnoh), was accompanied by Princess Eugenie, Patron of the Rnoh Appeal, for the official opening of the new Stanmore Building, which will offer the very latest inpatient facilities.
Princess Eugenie, who was diagnosed with scoliosis ages 12, underwent spinal surgery at the hospital, and has supported its redevelopment appeal for a number of years.
The Royal Family has a long association with the Hospital, which was founded in 1905 with the amalgamation of London’s three specialist orthopaedic hospitals. During the First World War, the hospital was used as military hospital and was visited by King George V and Queen Mary twice.

The Koh-i-Noor, a 109-carat diamond from India, is one of the Queen's biggest and most iconic jewels. And after nearly 170 years in British hands, the Indians want it back. The British government is fighting off new claims that the $30 million legendary bauble was stolen from India - charges that, ironically, may have been dredged up by renewed goodwill toward the royals after Prince William and Princess Kate's loving tour of the former colony. For centuries, possession of the Koh-i-Noor - "Mountain of Light" - has been in conflict. Its origins lost in time immemorial, the clear, brilliant stone is thought...

We’re less than two weeks away from the Oscars, and that means it’s once again time for my favorite activity: griping about the past!
One of my biggest Oscar pet peeves is when actors who portray real-life roles garner more attention — for no good reason — than actors who portray fictional characters. The Academy has long been too pleased with big-named thespians who prove they can imitate recognizable figures. Sometimes the attention is justified (Sean Penn in Milk and Marion Cotillard in La Vie en Rose come to mind), but often real-life roles become filler nominees in the supporting categories. Here are nine examples of Oscar-nominated performances that caught fire with the academy simply for being based on a known personality.
1. Jason Robards as Howard Hughes in Melvin and Howard

Ride 'em, William! Speaking in Calgary Thursday, Prince William thanked Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper for the hospitality extended to him and Kate, and said, in French, "Merci beaucoup: bon soir a tous." Their Royal Highnesses have been staying at Skoki Lodge, near Lake Louise in the Rockies, in the Banff National Park. The royal couple also got in the Western spirit of Calgary by donning white cowboy hats, a tradition there. (Although at first it was said they declined the headgear, only to be informed that would be a snub.) "I was proud to see them wearing their hats.
