Lee tragically died in March 1991, at the age of fourteen, after
inhaling solvents.
Due to his role as the infant Kal-El, he was the first non-American actor to play Superman. Fellow Brit Henry Cavill was the first non-American to play Superman's alter ego Clark Kent.
He was just seven months old when he played baby Kal-El, the younger
version of Christopher Reeve's character, in Superman (1978). His scenes were filmed at
studios in Shepperton, UK.
He lived with his grandparents in Langley, Eastbourne, England after
his parents split up.
He attended Bishop Bell CE School, located in Eastbourne,
England.
