Director Zoe Quist's (“Raw Cut”) picturesque Alaskan indie centers around a scientist named Ruby (Kalaj) who falls for a widower played by Daniel Ponickly (“Mona Lisa Smile.”) After uncovering a looming environmental disaster that promises to pit her against a shady industry — and potentially shutdown the town she's grown to love — Ruby is.

Does something bad always happen in a cabin in the remote part of the wilderness?
Indie thriller “Raw Cut” made its world debut earlier this month at the La Femme Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Here’s the synopsis:
When Adam Cohen invites his best college friends, Jack and Amanda, to his new Wyoming home for a week’s getaway to meet his new fiancé, Stephanie, the two couples get much more than the peace and solitude they were hoping for. Stephanie asks for help with her thesis film, a ‘found footage’ piece. The friends are going to play-act a traditional horror story: two ingénues are stalked and murdered by two crazed hillbillies. But who is stalking whom? How far are we willing to go for our art? How much will people take before they burst? Raw Cut explores the meta world between found footage and reality. What starts as...

Producer-director Zoe Quist has cast Judd Nelson, Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Ponickly and Antoinette Kalaj to play the leads in her upcoming Mining For Ruby.
Daniel Ponickly wrote the screenplay about a widower who falls for an environmental science student with a troubled past.
Production is set to commence this month in Alaska. Lock & Monkey Productions principals Quist, Daniel Ponickly and Daniel Lawrence Abrams produce while William St Pierre and Maya Salganek serve as executive producers.
“Tackling such hot-button topics like clinical depression and environmental activism in a romantic drama is immensely challenging,” said Quist. “But with this talented cast and thoughtful script I feel that our movie will really resonate with indie film audiences,”...
