According to Pamela Anderson, her former husband Kid Rock despised her “Borat” cameo.
The “Baywatch” alum wrote in her memoir “Love, Pamela” that following a private screening at CAA founder and former NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer’s home with Steven Spielberg in attendance, Rock (aka Robert “Bob” James Ritchie) yelled at Anderson and called her a “whore,” among other expletives.
“We were about to move in, until the premiere of ‘Borat,'” Anderson wrote of her relationship with Rock. “The screening at Ron and Kelly Meyer’s house didn’t go well. Lots of important industry people were there: Steven Spielberg, Rick Rubin, Laird Hamilton and his wife, Gabby Reece. I didn’t tell Bob I was in the movie, because I wanted to surprise him.”
She continued, “I forgot about the part in the film that referenced the ‘sextape.’ Bob stormed out, calling me a whore and worse.

Among Borat’s many very nice services is his habit of revealing grotesque misogyny, as Pamela Anderson found out firsthand when Sacha Baron Cohen’s most famous character saved her from moving in with Kid Rock.
As Anderson reveals in her new memoir Love, Pamela (via Rolling Stone), she and Kid Rock, aka Robert Ritchie, were ready to enter a serious phase of their relationship — that is, until they witnessed an advance screening of the 2006 film Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

Bob and I started spending more time in Detroit, his hometown. We had our big family wedding there, where Bob Seger and Hank Williams Jr. sang for us. Our life in Detroit was full of music. I took for granted all those nights with Hank, Zz Top, Uncle Kracker, Eminem, and Bob’s band. To be around such talent was inspiring. It was a true rock-and-roll lifestyle, gritty and soulful. Detroit had an energy all its own.

One glimpse into professional surfer Laird Hamilton’s closet and you know he doesn’t have an average suit-wearing, 9-to-5 type of job.
“Most of these clothes I don’t even wear because I live in surf shorts and T-shirts,” Hamilton tells People in this exclusive closet tour video, which was shot when People went inside the 53-year-old’s home to learn about the true story of his 20-year-marriage with pro volleyball player Gabrielle Reece.
As one of the most accomplished surfers in the sport, his closet epitomizes a surfer’s dream, as it stores hundreds of pieces of swimwear.

From Wonder Woman to Red Sonja, here are the female comic book projects that we’ve missed out on…
Although Supergirl, Catwoman and Elektra are movies that exist, there are times when we wish they didn’t. To be honest, the ‘perfect’ female-headlined superhero movie is still the stuff of our cinematic dreams. Saying that, TV’s Agent Carter provided us with a brilliant example of bringing a female comic book character to the small screen earlier this year, which hopefully Hollywood will learn a lot from going forward.
Of course, Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel will be joining their respective cinematic universes soon, with Supergirl getting a pop at small screen success too. It looks like female comic book heroes will be getting the attention they deserve in the live action realm, finally.

All too often reality shows feature people we would want to avoid in real life.
But there's a lovely moment in Bravo's "Eat, Drink, Love," premiering Sunday, Aug. 11, that could make you wish you picked up your morning treat and coffee at Fonuts, a Los Angeles bakery.
Customers choose their "fonuts" and dance with baker and co-owner Waylynn Lucas. Fonuts, a play on the words "faux" and "doughnuts," look like typical doughnuts, but they are never fried.
"We are all about the fun," Lucas says. "At Fonuts we don't think to take anything too seriously."
The show revolves around five single women in the food industry, including Lucas, a marketer, editor, personal chef and writer. Though the publicity information touts them as a "tight-knit circle of friends," Lucas says they were not pals before the show, though she had casually met a couple of them.

The beach's tannest and most enviable couple -- pro-volleyball player Gabrielle Reece and surfing superstar Laird Hamilton -- have been married for 17 years. They have two daughters together and one teenage daughter from Laird's first marriage. Reece recently wrote a memoir titled "My Foot Is Too Big For The Glass Slipper," about her marriage, the couple's misses and failures, as well as their most cherished lessons on living happily together and how it make it all work. But one statement in the book set off a firestorm of media reaction last month. Reece wrote, “to truly be feminine means being soft, receptive, and –- look out, here it comes –- submissive.”
HuffPost La spoke with Reece on the phone from her home in Kauai, Hawaii, to find out if she still stands by her submissiveness statement, how she got into a scuffle with Katie Couric and why fairy tales aren't meant to come true.

Gabrielle Reece caused quite a stir last week when she suggested in her new book that women ought to take on a "submissive" role with their husbands -- but she says her comments were taken out of context. In an interview with Chelsea Handler for the comedienne's show Chelsea Lately, the pro volleyball star defended her position, saying it's more about the choice to serve than the actual act of serving. "You don't seem like a submissive person," Handler told the [...]...

Being a feminist means different things to different people. To volleyball star Gabrielle Reece, it means taking on a "submissive" role in her 15-year-old marriage to surfer Laird Hamilton. On Thursday, Reece, 43, dropped by Chelsea Lately to defend the controversial message in her book, My Foot Is Too Big for the Glass Slipper: A Guide to the Less Than Perfect Life. "What I said was that I was choosing to take on this service or submissive role [in my marriage], and the feminists took it out of context," she explained. "I think that it's nice of one person to take on the female [role] and one person takes on the male [role]," she added. As far as what that means in the...

"To truly be feminine means being soft, receptive, and -- look out, here it comes -- submissive," writes the former model, who shares daughter Reece [...]...

Drew Barrymore and a pregnant Kate Hudson led the stylish way to a benefit dinner for the Natural Resources Defense Council's Ocean Initiative on Saturday, held at the Malibu home of movie executive Ron Meyer and his wife Kelly. The evening was cohosted by Chanel, which helps explain the high-fashion picks of the guests like Rachel Zoe and Courteney Cox. Drew Barrymore brought along her boyfriend Will Kopelman, and there were other happy duos there, too. Kate Hudson and her fiancé Matthew Bellamy made a fancy entrance following a low-key week of outings to see her son Ryder's athletic events and casual lunch dates. Expecting parents Bryce Dallas Howard and Seth Gabel also made it a date night, as did Seth Gabel and his wife Caroline Fentress, Gabrielle Reece with Laird Hamilton, and Barbra Streisand with James Brolin. Drew and Will led the Pda stakes, though, as is their usual habit.

Official wedding photo of Pearl Jam's frontman Eddie Vedder and model Jill McCormick has been revealed. In the newly outed picture, Eddie, in his bright suit, is seen kissing his bride who sweeps her feet off in her wedding gown with a traditional lei over it on a sandy shore in Hawaii.

Before tying the knot, Eddie and Jill have been in longtime relationship. The newlyweds already have two daughters together, 6-year-old Olivia and nearly 2-year-old Harper Moon. Wow, what a week of TV we had.
Welcome one and all to another bleak week of television!
Every year I look at what my television viewings are this year and every time I”m a little bit at a loss for words. At first I’m flabbergasted, then miffed, and finally I come to accept the schedule for what it is because I realize it’s that awkward period between the Nielsen ratings sweeps period. This particular lull is the one that falls right before the big sweeps period that pretty well dictates what the networks can charge for the advanced advertising sales on their shows for the upcoming fall season. Right now we’re one the precipice of that period.
This is also a very painful period for me to write about television but it isn’t completely because of the lull. There’s not a lot of...

Created by celebrity philanthropist Kelly Meyer in response to First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative to prevent childhood obesity, the Teaching Garden is a living laboratory. Students — receiving assistance from The Farmer-Veteran Coalition and GrowingGreat — plant, cultivate and harvest their own fresh produce while honing science and math skills.
In collaboration with Take Part, the program hopes to be in place at 1,000 other schools within two years, with participants regularly sharing ideas and reporting their progress via Skype.

Shakira, you are going to have a lot of upheaval this year!
2010 will bring a new tour, a tumultuous love life, and last-minute schedule changes: you’re in for quite a ride, Shakira. Astrology.com explains it all!
Happy birthday, Shakira! You’re loved by millions, and nothing that happens this year is going to change that, despite love life rumors throughout much of 2010. Stability is coming for you in 2011, but this year could be as back and forth as your belly-dancing moves. By the way, that tour this year? A big hit all around, but keep an eye on your business dealings. The last four months of the year will call for some re-arranging of your considerable business life, with some probable difficulties concerning some people working for you. You’re such a humanitarian that you’ve probably just let them get away with too much in the past.
