Rylan Clark has said that he can count his celebrity friends “on one hand”.
Appearing on Joe Lycett’s live Channel 4 show Late Night Lycett on Friday (7 April), Clark was asked by comedian Lycett to name his famous friends.
Admitting that he could “count them on one hand”, Clark listed Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, as well as Claire Richards from Steps.
“They’re my little nook,” he said.
Lycett responded by joking that his celebrity fans could be counted on 10 fingers, one for each of the 10 members of the band Blazin’ Squad. To demonstrate this, he held up a prop hand with five extra fingers stuck onto the palm.
Clark has been vocal in the past about his love of Langsford and Holmes, who he worked with on This Morning.
In his memoir Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, published last year, the presenter said that a...

British audiences have been graced with a new season of The Masked Singer.
Debuting on New Year’s Day, the top-secret singing competition welcomed a new batch of 13 incognito celebrities to compete in its fourth season.
During the first episode of the competition – which sees celebrities dressed in head-to-toe costumes to conceal their identity while they perform – Knitting was the first to display her talents.
Performing her rendition of Becky Hill’s song “Remember” for the panel of judges, Knitting narrowly escaped elimination.
Among the first-round competitors were Ghost, Jellyfish, Jacket Potato, Phoenix, and duo Cat and Mouse.
Ultimately, Ghost was this season’s first elimination, later revealing his identity as former footballer Chris Kamara. Cat and Mouse were unmasked as Martin and Shirlie Kemp in episode three.
Who is Knitting?
Ahead of Knitting’s performance, her clue video showed her standing in a crafty scene as she cut scraps of paper into geometrical shapes.

Ross Kemp has said that David James’s knowledge of cats in the new series of Bridge of Lies left his “jaw on the floor”.
The show, which became a hit daytime quiz series after it first came out in March 2022, returns in a new Saturday night slot on BBC One, with teams of celebrity contestants competing for the first time.
Actor and TV presenter Kemp, best known for playing Grant Mitchell EastEnders and presenting documentaries, including Ross Kemp on Gangs, returns to host the show.
The 58-year-old said the series has “glammed up a bit” but that he still considers himself Little Mr Saturday Night rather than Mr Saturday Night.
Kemp said he “laughed the most” while filming the third episode of the show with the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – Lawrence Chaney, Tia Kofi, Kitty Scott-Claus and The Vivienne.

Get out your magnifying glasses and dust off that notebook, because The Masked Singer is back to turn a nation of viewers into sofa detectives.
Helmed once again by comedian Joel Dommett, the unique competition shows 13 mystery celebrities singing familiar tunes on stage, while dressed up in a costume obscuring who they really are.
Guessing along with the in-studio audience and the viewers at home are the judges: Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross.
In the season’s first episode on New Year’s Day, Ghost was eliminated and was later revealed to be football star Chris Kamara.
Still, there’s a long season ahead, with plenty more costumes to be unmasked. Here’s a guide to the clues and guesses so far.
Who is Otter?
Otter first appeared in episode one with a passionate performance of Jimi Jamison’s “I’m Always Here” – also known as the Baywatch theme tune.

Illuminative, the Native woman-led social justice organization, has announced the launch of the Indigenous House at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
The Indigenous House will open its doors on Main Street in Park City, Utah, where it will spotlight the creativity of Native peoples, unveil new research on Native voices in media and provide a space for community members and allies to explore issues that impact Native peoples.
“We are beyond thrilled to open the doors to the Indigenous House for the very first time at Sundance Film Festival,” Crystal Echo Hawk, founder and executive director of Illuminative, said in a statement. “Storytelling is a powerful force for change, and we’ve seen firsthand how impactful Native representation is. The entertainment industry has always been one of the biggest perpetrators of our erasure, but Native peoples have flipped the script and are breaking barriers and making incredible strides in representation.

The Masked Singer fans are adamant that they have discovered the real identity of the Cat and Mouse on the ITV series.
According to viewer theories, married couple and singers Martin and Shirlie Kemp are allegedly behind the masks of the Cat and Mouse.
The first episode of the season, which aired on ITV on Sunday (1 January), saw the animalistic pair go up against Ghost, Jellyfish, Phoenix, Knitting and Otter to impress the studio audience and the panel.
Ghost was eventually unmasked as footballer Chris Kamara, leaving viewers thrilled and the panel shocked.
Now, viewers have their suspicions that Pepsi & Shirlie singer, Shirlie, and Spandau Ballet vocalist, Martin, are hiding under the Cat and Mouse costumes.
Viewers believe that the clues given in episode one were enough to give their identities away.
Clues included the number 20,000,000 written on a notepad and “knowing how to spin a tale”, while the cat...

For the past few days, many have been tweeting their bewilderment on realising that the singer appeared to have blocked them.

The move led to the hashtag “BlockedByHFromSteps” trending on Twitter, with Watkins eventually explaining in a since-deleted post: “I recently signed up for a clean-up of ‘bots’ and ‘phobes’. Apologies if the blocking offended… I didn’t do this manually! Merry Christmas.”

Things get serious this weekend. Three studio released with a combined cost of some $300 million —”Deepwater Horizon” (Lionsgate), “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” (20th Century Fox) and “Masterminds” (Relativity)— are opening on a single early fall release date.
After three fall weeks, Clint Eastwood’s “Sully” is the sole clear winner with “The Magnificent Seven” opening in the mid-$30 millions. So the season is down 15% so far.
For all three new releases, this timing could be perilous. The same weekend in 2015, “The Martian” opened at $54 million and the second weekend of “Hotel Transylvania 2” scored $33 million, boosting a Top Ten total to $140 million. Weekend results could bring both marginal returns for the three studios as well as a continuation of the downward trend.
At least each of this week’s debut films can rely on some pedigree to boost their chances. But their anticipated results will all fall...

The Bond franchise which has been with us so long, has become so deeply entrenched in popular culture, that we often forget what it was that first distinguished the Bonds a half-century ago. Skyfall might be one of the best of the Bonds, and even, arguably, one of the best big-budget big-action flicks to come along in quite a while, but it’s not alone. The annual box office is – and has been, for quite some time – dominated by big, action-packed blockbusters of one sort of another. The Bonds aren’t even the only action-driven spy flicks (Mr. James Bond, I’d like you to meet Mr. Jason Bourne and Mr. Ethan Hunt).
That’s not to take anything away from the superb entertainment Skyfall is, or the sentimentally treasured place the Bonds hold. It’s only to say that where there was once just the one, there are now many.

Best British movies of all time? (Image: a young Michael Caine in 'Get Carter') Ten years ago, Get Carter, starring Michael Caine as a dangerous-looking London gangster (see photo above), was selected as the United Kingdom's very best movie of all time according to 25 British film critics polled by Total Film magazine. To say that Mike Hodges' 1971 thriller was a surprising choice would be an understatement. I mean, not a David Lean epic or an early Alfred Hitchcock thriller? What a difference ten years make. On Total Film's 2014 list, published last May, Get Carter was no. 44 among the magazine's Top 50 best British movies of all time. How could that be? Well, first of all, people would be very naive if they took such lists seriously, whether we're talking Total Film, the British Film Institute, or, to keep things British, Sight & Sound magazine. Second, whereas Total Film's 2004 list was the result of a 25-critic consensus,...

Loose Women presenter Andrea McLean has become the first celebrity gymnast to leave BBC One's Tumble.
The result was decided by head judge Nadia Comăneci after McLean took on former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan in the Vault challenge.
The pair faced the deciding challenge after finishing bottom of the leader board when scores from weeks one and two were taken into consideration.
McLean told presenter Alex Jones that she had "loved every minute" on the show. The ex-weathergirl battled through ankle injuries to perform her routine, winning praise from Comăneci for overcoming a mistake during the live performance.
Speaking after the result, Jones teased that the discipline next week will be trampolining. Other remaining stars include Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding, ex-Sugababe Amelle Berrabah, boxer Carl Froch and actor John Partridge.

I have a curious habit, maybe you have it too, if you are a real movie geek, film fan, cinema addict, what have you.
A certain number of movies that I have seen and loved with all my heart were losers at the box office or were mercilessly slammed by critics, usually both. This doesn’t happen all the time, mind you. I know a bad movie when I see one. But several times I have seen a movie on opening day and loved it so much I was sure it would be a big hit and be loved by critics and film goers, nope, not all the time.
Here then is my own personal and highly eccentric top ten list, with some honorable mentions, of movies that lost out, yet I love them still, many of them desperately, hysterically, madly do I love these films, well anyway… let me tell you about it.

Big Brovaz made a surprise comeback on UK television on Friday night during Celebrity Big Brother's launch.
Four of the original six members appeared on Channel 5's Bit on the Side, performing arguably their most famous hit 'Nu Flow'. Their appearance met with the enjoyment of many fans online, and the group were a Twitter trend for the remainder of the weekend.
The R&B-pop group scored four top ten hits in the early 2000s, and were perhaps the 'nice' antidote to So Solid Crew at the time. Cherise and Nadia later went on to form Booty Luv, and they disbanded by 2007.

Easily the band's most memorable track, and still to this day an excellent R&B/pop hit.

Glenn here. Can I talk a little bit more about Alfred Hitchcock? After all, he was born on this day 114 years ago and it's pretty astounding that his works are still being mimicked, adapted and homaged to this day. So few classic directors can be spoken about in this day and age and still have new and interesting things to be said. My personal favourite is Psycho (1960), but then I've always had a softer spot for his more pulpy work. Think of others like The Birds (1963) and The 39 Steps (1935) for instance. He's known for refined, classy, adult thrillers, the likes of which are barely made today, but it was his embrace of genre that continues to impress me the most. He supposedly hated horror movies and wanted to go about reinventing them. It's hard to deny he succeeded.
Several sequels followed, including Psycho II, which is actually quite impressive if...

Celebrity Big Brother star Claire Richards has responded to "nonsense" declarations from Heidi and Spencer Pratt that they feared their housemates would kill them in their sleep.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the Steps singer said that although the Hills couple were "horrible" people, there was "absolutely not a chance" that any of the cast would harm them.
Speidi made the claims in a tabloid interview following the Celebrity Big Brother final last Friday (January 25), where they finished second to Rylan Clark.
"Every time we saw any of them near knives we left the kitchen straight away," they recalled.
"Some of them would itch their own face with a butcher's knife - it was mentally insane. If they'll hold knives by their own faces I didn't know what they were capable of."

Rylan Clark has won Celebrity Big Brother. The former X Factor star burst into tears as it was announced that he had beaten runners-up Heidi & Spencer to win the Channel 5 show. Earlier in the evening, Neighbours star Ryan Moloney finished in third place, Steps singer Claire Richards came fourth, and former footballer Neil 'Razor' Ruddock ended the series in fifth place. Wiping away tears, Rylan responded to Brian Dowling's congratulations by saying: "Coming from you, this is a dream come true." He continued: "For the past year, all people have been doing is picking up a phone for me, and I really appreciate it with all my heart." The singer went on to insist that he didn't know why he had won, saying he had been "hated... three months ago". Describing himself as the "biggest fan of Big Brother", (more)...

Celebrity Big Brother stars Heidi and Spencer Pratt will reportedly be assigned bodyguards once they leave the house, after receiving death threats online. The married couple and former stars of The Hills are to get "close protection" as part of a "huge security operation", according to the Daily Star. The spouses - nicknamed 'Speidi' - have become figures of hate amongst Celebrity Big Brother fans after repeatedly talking behind their other housemates' backs, refusing to participate in tasks and, in the eyes of some, receiving preferential treatment from producers. The backlash against them apparently intensified when they clapped during the news that Claire Richards would not receive a letter from home as part of a task. One Twitter user wrote: "I want to kill Speidi the heartless cold creatures, they shouldnt be aloud (more)...

Heidi and Spencer's feud with their fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemates has calmed down today (January 22) after an open discussion about clap-gate. The Us reality TV couple riled their co-stars yesterday when they clapped during the news that Claire Richards would not get a letter from her family. The Steps star was denied the letter after Speidi refused to take part in a task for Big Brother, which would have involved them being separated. Tricia Penrose brought the duo back into the fold today, insisting that she knew the pair were "nice people". "I just want everyone to be happy. I don't like this atmosphere," she said. Heidi used the opportunity to explain her actions, commenting: "We thought they would separate us for days and that's why we said no. If they gave us a costume we would have loved to do it and we asked, (more)...

Celebrity Big Brother contestant Lacey Banghard is bookmakers' favourite to be evicted from the house this Wednesday (January 16). The glamour model will be voted out over show villains Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Rylan Clark and Claire Richards according to Ladbrokes, who have given her odds of 4/6. Steps singer Richards is the next most likely to be evicted with odds of 9/4, while Speidi and Clark are outsiders at 4/1 and 25/1 respectively. William Hill have also named Banghard as the 8/13 favourite for eviction, reasoning that she is "too nice to stay" in the "feisty" Big Brother house. Former Celebrity Big Brother star Nicola McLean has criticised Rylan Clark's recent behaviour in the house. The X Factor contestant was shown clashing with Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag - nicknamed Speidi - during last night's episode, when the Hills stars returned to the house after watching their housemates from the basement. Speidi nominated Rylan and Claire Richards as the dullest housemates and confronted the singers for talking about them behind their backs. "I thought Heidi and Spencer composed themselves amazingly when they re-entered the house last night. Celebrity Big Brother's Rylan Clark and Claire Richards have been nominated for the next public vote. The pair were picked by Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, as they made their return to the house following their secret stay in the Big Brother basement. On learning that the Hills stars had not really left, the other housemates looked surprised and made claims that they "knew it". Sitting in the Diary Room as they were screened to the others, Heidi said she was "shocked" by the "mean-spirited" things that she had heard them say. "It was... quite the learning experience," she added. Big Brother then revealed that the "golden couple of Us reality TV" were to pick the two "dullest" housemates to face eviction. Claire Richards will have to listen to one of Steps' biggest hits on a loop to help pass the 'Celebrity Big Brother' 'Against The Odds' shopping task. A 'randomiser' machine has been placed in the living room and currently contains one green ball saying 'Pass' and a red saying 'Fail' and a series of challenges will help the housemates boost their chances of winning by earning more green balls. First things first. This list hasn’t been compiled as some comparative list of the greatest singers and front men that I, you or anyone will ever come across. No, far from it. Far from, even, a list of my favourite singers and front men. Nor is it an accurate representation of my musical taste. I have loved and worshipped at the altar of other singers, front men, bands and artists more at any given moment, as my fleeting attention span allows, be it for their technical prowess, their performance or their myth; I’m a sucker for a tortured artist.
No, what we have here is a list to make you think and reminisce; harking back to those long forgotten days of yore, of childhood. So without further ado, and our taking-ourselves-seriously-hats left reassuringly at the door, here then, is my list of Top Ten Singers I Pretended To...
