Exclusive: Rtg Features (Alaskan Nets) and Msm (The Last Dance) have tapped David Charles Rodrigues (Neymar: The Perfect Chao) to direct a new feature doc about the high-scoring NBA trio of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin—collectively known as Run Tmc—and how they set the stage for the present-day dynasty of the world-champion Golden State Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Led by Hall of Fame coach Don Nelson, Run Tmc showcased “Nellie Ball” and ushered in the modern NBA. While the two brief seasons that Hardaway, Richmond and Mullin played together from 1989-1991 didn’t yield any championships, they birthed life-long friendships. Billed as “the most fun fun sports doc of all time”, the as-yet-untitled feature will be a three-man weave combining basketball, hip-hop, the Bay Area and late-’80s/early-’90s nostalgia.
Mason Gordon will produce for Msm, with Rtg Features acting as the studio.

It’s not often we write articles about award-winning performers here on Dread Central, which makes this all the more exciting for yours truly. This past weekend Deon Taylor (Dead Tone, Chain Letter) invited Dread Central exclusively out to his set in Los Angeles to give us a look at the revamping of his Night Tales (previously Nite Tales) brand of horror.
Previously hosted by everyone’s favorite hip-hop hype man Flavor Flav, the new Night Tales will be hosted by Stacey Dash (Clueless) as a vampiress, demonstrating a new, serious and sexy direction for both the television series as well as the feature film.
In addition to the new direction of Night Tales, Taylor also introduced us to his brand new producing partner, Oscar and Grammy Award winner Jamie Foxx. The collaboration marks Foxx’s first true foray into the horror genre, something that excites the renowned actor greatly.

Las Vegas -- On the eve of NATPE's 2009 Market & Conference, Flavor Flav and filmmaker Deon Taylor have inked a deal to turn their Bet movie "Nite Tales" into an anthology series.
At the same time, syndicator Trifecta Entertainment & Media, headed by CEO Hank Cohen, has formed a joint venture with Dennis Ray's Star Media, which sells advertising time on syndicated series, specializing in the urban marketplace. The Flav-hosted "Tales" marks the first project to come out of the new venture, TriStar Media.
In other NATPE news, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" is returning to broadcast syndication, and "Legend of the Seeker" has been renewed for a second season.
"Tales," described as "30-minute tales of irony and twists," originated with the Bet movie that aired on Halloween and is set for DVD release Feb. 3 by Bet, Paramount and Deon Taylor Enterprises.
TriStar is co-producing the series with DTE and will look for a cable partner initially.
