Why would someone want to be related to Charles Manson?
Jason Freeman is likely accustomed to that question. A 41-year-old oil rig worker and father of three from Florida, Freeman has long believed he is the mass murderer’s grandson, born in 1976 to Charles Manson, Jr.
Freeman tells People he first learned about his purported infamous family history as a teen. In recent years, before Manson’s death Sunday at 83, he had pushed to have a relationship with the one of the most reviled figures in United States history.

Manson's reputed biological son Matthew Roberts will be participating in a performance art piece titled "The Retrial of Charles Manson" -- a mock trial at L.A.'s Vector Gallery. Vector owner Jj Brine tells us he and friend Matthew Roberts created the retrial to put a spotlight on what they consider gross unfairness -- making Manson the symbol of evil when he didn't kill anyone.

Lewis and Clark, pioneer explorers of the American Frontier on a mission of discovery to map the great uncharted lands of America – and hunt monsters? Yes, in a similar vein to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, writer Chris Dingess takes the famous explorers and re-imagines their journey as part geographical survey and part clandestine mission to eliminate a mysterious threat to the burgeoning United States.
Manifest Destiny is Dingess’ first comic – his background is TV writing on shows like Being Human and Medium – and it’s not bad for a first comic, especially as it’s also a first issue which are notoriously hard to get right. There’s a lot of cursive-lettered scene-setting from Lewis’ journal as he gives us the setup of the expedition, the makeup of the crew, their mission and side-mission, and his impressions of the journey so far. On July 11th, Robert Kirkman’s wildly popular zombie comic book series The Walking Dead will turn 100. The comic book has become a country wide phenomenon with the creation of AMC’s TV show adaptation, but now it’s time to give attention to the original work of art.
