Oksana Grigorieva may face criminal extortion charges in relation to the released recordings of ex-partner Mel Gibson. A Los Angeles County District Attorney has been presented with evidence about the case, relating to the guarantee she would not release the tapes which see Mel threaten her as part of a child custody agreement for their two-year-old daughter Lucia, and will now
decide if the Russian-born singer will face official charges.
District Attorney spokesperson Jane Robinson told E! News, "Sheriff's officials dropped off last part of the Mel investigation today. It's under review." Being questioned is whether Oksana intentionally tried to gain $15 million in hush money to prevent the recordings from going public.
Soon after signing the child custody agreement, Oksana reneged and the recordings appeared a few months later, although she has always denied her involvement.

However, it is not believed Lindsay, 24, will avoid being charged over the incident, with insiders claiming paperwork will be submitted later this week.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Charges will be filed against Lindsay this week. There are just some minor housekeeping issues to get ironed out on the case before it's filed."
Los Angeles Police Department detectives initially obtained a warrant to search the troubled star's Venice Beach home last Tuesday (01.02.11) after store owners became concerned about the whereabouts of the necklace.

Lindsay Lohan is unlikely to enter Morningside Recovery rehab center in Orange County, California once she is released from the all-women's Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood. According to Radar Online, Judge Marsha Revel has made the decision to change the actress' rehab facility "after becoming concerned that Lindsay could have drugs snuck into her by the public."
About the dramatic change of plans, Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers said, "Any decision about her present rehab facility was made without the Da being present. I have no input in that decision and knew nothing about the change of facility." The deputy elaborated, "For further information, please contact Jane Robinson in media relations."
Sources additionally told Radar that 24-year-old Lindsay "will be taken directly to another facility on the Westside of Los Angeles" after leaving the women's jail in Lynwood, California on late Sunday night, August 1. Offering details on the actress' release itself,...

Not only is Lindsay Lohan expected to serve far less than 90 days in jail, but she also may have some down time before she heads to rehab upon release. That is, if her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, has it her way. "It's up to the judge. I am hoping she'll have some time with her family before she goes to rehab," Holley told E! News during a stop to visit Lohan at the Century Regional Detention Facility today. "She's trying to comply with all the courts orders, but she should she able to spend 24 hours at home, in my opinion." That could be a toughie, however. Los Angeles District Attorney Office spokeswoman Jane Robinson already said Lohan will have to head...

The investigation into Michael Jackson's death marches on, and with it, so do the rumors. Despite several reports, the quest for answers has not turned into a homicide investigation. "Nothing has changed," Los Angeles District Attorney's office spokeswoman Jane Robinson tells E! News. "It's still an ongoing investigation." Likewise, the Lapd echoes that statement, simply saying the investigation continues. Neither party is throwing the words criminal or homicide around, although the Lapd and the district attorney's office have spoken to each other. "As far as [the Lapd] contacting us a few times, that's true," Robinson says. She adds...

The attorney representing the man accused of shooting and killing Atlanta rapper Dolla in Los Angeles on Monday claims that his client acted in self-defense.
"If somebody has a reasonable perception that he is in danger of bodily injury or death, he has a right to defend himself," Howard K. Price, lawyer for Aubrey Louis Berry told MTV News on Thursday. Price said his client shot at Dolla (real name: Roderick Anthony Burton), 21, at a Los Angeles mall on Monday because he feared for his life when he ran into the rapper and his entourage at the Beverly Center.
Berry was arrested on Monday at Los Angeles International Airport, where he was carrying a loaded 9mm handgun, and charged on Wednesday with two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of murder.
