"We don't take too kindly to strangers around the Hollow, that's for sure..." Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Wolf Hollow, a super low budget werewolf project from Texas-native filmmaker Mark Cantu. It's set to launch on VOD in August if anyone is interested in having some werewolf fun. Not to be confused with Jim Cummings' The Wolf of Snow Hollow. A group of young filmmakers, led by neophyte producer Alex Romero (Christina Krakowski), venture out on a location scout in rural Pennsylvania. Deep into the back country, it quickly becomes apparent they have stumbled onto a family of werewolves and must now try to survive the night. The horror stars Christina Krakowski, Noah Welter, Felissa Rose, Hannah Fierman, Lynn Lowry, Brian Ceponis, Jess Uhler, Kamarra Cole, Brandon Krum. Most of this looks like junk, until the man-in-suit werewolves show up and then hell yes.

After sitting through the less-than-satisfying Viking Wolf I wanted a lycanthropic film with a bit more bite to it. As it happened, I had the screener for the new film from writer/director Mark Cantu, Wolf Hollow waiting to be watched. Five minutes into it I’d already seen more gore than in the entire running time of A Norwegian Werewolf in High School as a drunken bonfire is invaded by a pack of werewolves.
A year later two things are happening. Evie and Bart Neuri are meeting with Mayor Schuzmarke about the absorption of Wolf Hollow by the adjacent town. An act caused in part by certain incidents on the Neuri’s property a year ago.
And in the hamlet of Wolf Hollow itself,...

Bates Motel, Season 1, Episode 2: “Nice Town You Picked Norma”

In 1960, Alfred Hitchcock was already famous as the screen’s master of suspense, but when he released Psycho he forever changed the shape and tone of the screen thriller. Infamous for its shower scene, but immortal for its contribution to the horror genre, Psycho is perhaps Hitchcock’s most famous film, and his most influential. Hitchcock didn’t just create modern horror, he popularized it. So it is no surprise that many people decided to write off Bates Motel long before the series even premiered. It takes a lot of courage to create a prequel to a movie that is both a landmark in film history as well as a monument of moviemaking. After 52 years, is there anything left to say about Norman Bates? Showrunners Carlton Cuse...

In the premiere of "Bates Motel" last week, we saw amazing performances by Vera Farmiga and Freddy Highmore, who did a fantastic job channeling a young Anthony Perkins. Now that the plot had been set up, we can learn more about the town and Norma's other son.
Spoiler Alert: Do not read any further if you haven’t watched the episode yet. This is a recap with specific details from this episode. Continue only if you have already watched it.
Norman was fascinated by the little picture book he found last week while cleaning and obsessed over some of the bondage pictures. When the doorbell rang, he was awakened from his trance and hid the book. Norma ran down the stairs to open the door and was shocked to see the surprise visitor: her other son, Dylan.
Norman asked Norma how long Dylan was staying but she shrugged it off.

There's a new trailer for A&E's "Bates Motel" and it includes a behind-the-scenes look at the drama series. Just don't call it a remake.
"We're not remaking 'Psycho,'" Vera Farmiga says in the video above. "We're using it as an inspiration." Farmiga plays Norma Bates with Freddie Highmore taking on the role of Norman Bates.
"Lost" actor Nestor Carbonell plays Sheriff Alex Romero and describes the series as an "incredible reimagining of the original 'Psycho.'"
