The honeymoon has ended for John Ross, in more ways than one.
"D.T.R.," Monday's (March 24) episode of TNT's "Dallas," opened with the newlywed Ewing (Josh Henderson) landing back home with wife Pamela (Julie Gionzalo). They immediately turned their thoughts back to business, with her wondering how his deal to acquire desired ships was going. His stalling on the answer led her to suggest she'd ask Emma (Emma Bell), but he coaxed her out of it as they got frisky in the back of their limo.
Upon returning to Southfork, John Ross checked on the temporarily stalled drilling, then threatened foreman Bo (Donny Boaz) with bringing in a replacement crew if the workers couldn't get back to business that night. A concerned Bobby (Patrick Duffy) watched from a distance, John Ross waving mock-cheerfully upon spotting him.

2012 was a terrific dozen months in television. But even more so for some actors and actresses than others.
In our year-end countdown - which thus far has included the Funniest Show of 2012, the Best Character, the Best Episode, the Best Male Performance, the Best Female Performance, the Best Couple, the Best Villain, the Best Feud and the Best New Show - we've now arrived at the following question for our staff and readers:
Who was the breakout star of 2012?
Christine Orlando: Josh Henderson as John Ross Ewing III on Dallas. Playing Jr Ewing's son is no small role, but Josh manages to infuse John Ross with the deviousness of his father and still makes me believe there's a big heart inside this character. I went into the new Dallas thinking I'd be rooting for Christopher Ewing, but it's been John Ross all the way since Henderson hit the screen.

The first big question about last week’s two-hour premiere of Dallas on TNT was whether audiences would have any desire to revisit the Ewing family that captivated us during it’s thirteen year run on CBS (1978-1991). The answer came back an empahtic Yes! when 6.9 million viewers showed up (making it the number one scripted premiere for year-to-date). With tonight’s episode, the next question is whether viewers will stick around to see old rivalries heat up between brothers J.R. (Larry Hagman) and Bobby (Patrick Duffy) as well as new conflicts between sexy often-shirtless cousins John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe)?
With sharp, dramatic writing, no sign of the camp that sank the recent reboots like Charlie's Angels and Melrose Place and conflicts that come across as fresh instead of stale, the answer should again be Yes.
One reason for the apparent success of the Dallas...

Back in the '80s, TV was a trip. Once I finished my mandatory 30 minutes of piano-practicing, I was one of those kids who plopped herself down in front of the TV until dinner time (of course, this was the days of yore when children weren't laden with bulky knapsacks or dragging those little suitcases to and from school, burdened by hours of homework -- but I digress).
So I've loved everything about TV for as long as I can remember. I learned to tell time with "Polka Dot Door," Balki Bartokomous was my favourite character, I had crushes on Face from "The A-Team" and Jeff Colby from "Dynasty" (side note: I wrote both actors, Dirk Benedict and John James, respectively, fan letters and only heard back from one of them -- complete with autographed picture. Squeee!), and my mother and I would catch up on the day's soaps ("Ryan's Hope,...

TNT has given the greenlight to Dallas, an all-new series based upon one of the most popular television dramas of all time, about the bitter rivalries and family power struggles within a Texas oil and cattle-ranching dynasty. Famous for its ratings-grabbing cliffhangers, the original series was known for its wealth, seduction, scandal and intrigues. Set in the big state of Texas, TNT’s new Dallas — from Warner Horizon Television — also lives life large and in the fast lane and brings a new generation of stars together with cast members from the original drama series. The new Dallas stars Josh Henderson (90210), Jesse Metcalfe (Passions), Jordana Brewster (As The World Turns), Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars) and Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives), and they will be joined by iconic stars Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing. TNT has ordered 10 episodes of Dallas, which is slated to premiere in summer...

According to Deadline.com, former Passions and Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe has landed the role of Bobby and Pam Ewing's adopted son Christopher on TNT's Dallas, with Julie Gonzalo also landing a lead role in the pilot.
The updated Dallas, from Cane creator Cynthia Cidre and Warner Horizon, centers on the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing - J.R.'s son, John Ross (Josh Henderson) and his cousin Christopher (Metcalfe) - who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance. Gonzalo will play Rebecca, Christopher's fiancee. Also set for the pilot are original Dallas stars Larry Hagman as J.R., Patrick Duffy as Bobby and Linda Gray as Sue Ellen, as well as Jordana Brewster as Elena, who is locked into a love triangle with Christopher and John.
