It’s always a good time to catch up on your reading, as March is National Reading Month, now feels like the perfect occasion. With so many new TV shows and films on the horizon, it’s not easy to stop streaming and open up a good book. But what if that good book happens to be a graphic novel about one of your favorite Marvel characters?
Graphic novels are a mesmerizing genre within the literary cypher. The best of the bunch find the synergy in fusing exquisite stories with spellbinding illustrations for a double-sensory experience. Most (if not all) stories start on paper, and reading graphic novels means supporting a sometimes undervalued art form.

When conductor Arnie Roth uttered the word “remake” when discussing Final Fantasy Xii over the weekend, fans of the PS2 RPG couldn’t help but get excited.
The comment was made during the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert held in Pittsburgh, fuelling speculation that Square would overhaul the sequel in the vein of Final Fantasy VII. However, taking to the official Facebook page (via Eurogamer), Roth has clarified that the term was “used in error,” though he didn’t necessarily rule out a potential HD remaster.
Dear friends,
In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy concert in Pittsburgh.
Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from Final Fantasy 12, regrettably, the term “remake” was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.

The 7th annual Montreal Comiccon, was held at the Palais des Congrès this past weekend and for the first time in seven years, I was able to attend the event. Past Cons were held in early September, conflicting with my coverage of the Toronto International Film Festival, but this year, the organizers decided to change the date allowing me to geek out to a variety of attractions catering to fans of comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, games, television and film. I’m pleased to announce that I was pleasantly surprised with the event as a whole. Montreal’s geek extravaganza is extremely laid back. There was little time spent waiting in line and everyone seems to be having a good time. I counted over two dozen booths filled with comic book artists ready to draw up an original piece on the spot, sign an autograph...

Arguably one of the most influential JRPGs celebrates 25 years of magical weapons, random encounters, legendary stories, and Moogles with a new website.
The site boasts all things Final Fantasy including bios and discographies of each game and series of articles discussing the franchise in full. Fans are encouraged to heat up the forums with their personal experiences from their favorite game- no doubt igniting a flame war about which is the best (it's Final Fantasy VIII, bring it on haters). There will also be a special event at Pax Prime in which kiosks will host several games across the series. From the press release:
In conjunction with the official Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary event in Tokyo, Square Enix will kick-off the North American festivities at Penny Arcade Expo (Pax) Prime 2012 with the franchise’s first “Experience Final Fantasy” event on Friday, August 31 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Nerdventures: Familiar Songs From Distant Worlds
When I went to summer camp, the oldest boy’s dorm — and focus point of younger male’s uncool envy — would always get up to antics which their disciples could only aspire to. One of their common flare ups would take place in the mess hall. During any too-dull-to-stand moments or amid any too-hyped-to-ignore cheer offs, they would take it upon themselves to stand on their chairs and in an uncoordinated harmony of vocoded ‘doots’ and ‘deets’ the good old boys would give their try at impersonating the instantly recognizable Super Mario theme. Between the three Game Boy Colours that circulated my padawan dorm, it became clear that this could actually be the second oldest/third youngest crew on camp’s chance to shine, and so it was suggested to my counsellor that perhaps we’d ‘back...
