Benton set to direct, with Paul Newman producing/starring just as they
did in making film of Russo's story "Nobody's Fool".
As of 2005, three of his film projects have starred Paul Newman:
Nobody's Fool (1994), (Twilight (1998), and "Empire Falls" (2005).
Russo appears as a character in the book She's Not There: A Life in Two
Genders, the memoir of his close friend and fellow Colby College
professor Jennifer Finney Boylan. Russo also wrote the afterword for
the book.
As of Empire Falls (2005) (TV), 3 of Russo's 7 produced scripts have
been made with Paul Newman as a star.
