Exclusive: NBC is developing The Chase, a crime drama from Supergirl alumna Azie Tesfai and Universal Television.
Written and executive produced by Tesfai, in The Chase, when undercover CIA agent Robert falls for his target, Katherine, everything changes. Their Bonnie & Clyde escape goes sideways when they’re captured by the American government and forced to use their opposing assets and skill set to find some of the most wanted criminals in the world, all while learning the other isn’t who they thought.
Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group, is the studio.
Tesfai starred and wrote on The CW’s Supergirl as ex-military psychologist Kelly Olsen and DC comics superhero the Guardian. She was also the first Ethiopian person to ever portray a superhero on screen and made Arrowverse history as the first actor in a Greg Berlanti-produced series to also pen an episode on any of his shows.

Exclusive: APA has signed actor and writer Johnathan Fernandez (Gossip Girl) for representation.
Fernandez is currently a series regular on HBO Max’s Gossip Girl revival, playing the character Nick Lott. He recently wrapped three seasons as a series regular on Fox’s action series, Lethal Weapon—there playing LAPD pathologist and forensic technician Bernard Scorsese. Additional TV credits include Bull, Girls, Younger and Adam Ruins Everything. The New York native was also a regular panelist on the panel game show @midnight, which aired on Comedy Central between 2013 and 2017.

HBO is tapping its ruby slippers and heading to Kansas.
The premium cabler has issued a series order for a new comedy titled “Somebody Somewhere,” which is set in Kansas and will star Kansas-born comedian and singer Bridget Everett.
Inspired by Everett’s life, the series will center around Sam Miller (played by Everett), a true Kansan on the surface who beneath it all struggles to fit the hometown mold. As she grapples with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders that don’t fit in but don’t give up.
Everett is known for her appearances on “Inside Amy Schumer” and recently starred in the Netflix drama “Unbelievable.”
“As a born and bred Kansan, I’m thrilled to share some of the beauty and complexity of the place that I grew up,” said Everett.

Shades of Blue creator Adi Hasak is teaming with Red Arrow Studios International and Universal Television to develop a U.S. version of popular German series The Last Cop (Der Letzte Bulle), under his Adi TV Studios banner.
