Fred Saidy was born on February 11, 1907 in California, USA. He was a writer, known for Finian's Rainbow (1968), I Dood It (1943) and Meet the People (1944). He was married to Marie Mallouk. He died on May 14, 1982 in Santa Monica, California, USA.
Was nominated for Broadway's 1958 Tony Award, his book with
collaborator E.Y. Harburg, as part of Best Musical nomination for "Jamaica."
His son, Anthony Saidy, is a famous chessplayer, who, along with Norman
Lessing, wrote an excellent coffeetable book on chess, "The World of
Chess," in 1974.
