Son of Edmund Schlink, a leading German Lutheran theologian.
Has been professor of public law and the philosophy of law at the Humboldt University in Berlin since January 2006.
Wrote several bestselling novels including "Der Vorleser" ("The Reader", 1995),
which topped the New York Times bestseller list and was made into the movie The Reader (2008), and "Liebesfluchten" ("Flights of Love", 2000).
