- Werner Schmidt-Boelcke was born on July 28, 1903 in Rostock, Germany. He was a composer, known for Eine Frau, die weiß, was sie will (1934), The Last Laugh (1924) and Great Freedom No. 7 (1944). He died on November 5, 1985 in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany.
- He continued his activity as a film composer in the 30's and wrote the scores to popular movies like "Liebe und Champagner" (1930), "Yorck" (1931) and "Eine Frau, die weiss, was sie will" (1934).
