Attractive German leading lady of a few films in the 1930's and early 40's. Left screen acting and returned to the stage following her marriage to the director of the Metropoltheater and Admiralspalast in Berlin.
Beside the film business she remained true to the theater and worked often at the Metropol-Theater and at the Theater im Admiralspalast of which her husband Heinz Hentschke was the director.
The actress Hilde Schneider began her career at the Städtisches Theater in Baden-Baden. After some successful appearances she went to Berlin, the German stronghold of acting, where she made her film debut in the short movie "Postlagernd XYZ" (1934).
She died untimely at the age of 47 in Berlin.
From 1935 followed first feature movies and Hilde Schneider took part in some great productions in the next years.
She didn't continue her acting career after the war and retired.
