Global Screen, the Munich-based international sales outfit, has boarded worldwide sales on “The Trek,” the upcoming first feature from leading South African cinematographer and director Meekaaeel Adam. The film is a horror-Western, in which starvation, suspicion and madness plague a family as they cross the Kalahari Desert under the eyes of primeval spirits.
“The Trek” is set in 1846, when a Dutch-Afrikaans family and their British travel companion set off on a challenging journey through the Kalahari Desert. Along the way, they meet Atshumao, a stoic man of the Khoen people, one of Southern Africa’s original indigenous, nomadic population groups.
Despite Atshumao’s warning, the group attempts a shortcut through the unforgiving landscape, unaware that this will lead them to cross paths with two ancestral spirits – who will settle a centuries-old dispute by betting on the family’s lives. The group of travelers is soon plagued by misfortune, tragedy, thirst,...

Paul Reiser was nominated 10 times at the Emmys for the NBC sitcom “Mad About You” — six for Best Comedy Actor and four as a producer when the show was cited in Best Comedy Series. He lost them all. Now the actor is nominated for the first time in his career for a non-“Mad” project, Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method.” Reiser is contending in Best Comedy Supporting Actor for playing Martin Schneider, the much older boyfriend of Mindy (Sarah Baker), who befriends her father Sandy (Michael Douglas).
Reiser has submitted the second episode of this third and final season to Emmy judges, titled “You only give me your funny paper.” Directed by Andy Tennant from a script by Chuck Lorre, it’s the episode where Mindy begins seeing Martin in a new light. Reiser joined “The Kominsky Method” in Season 2 in a recurring role. After Alan Arkin left the show,...

“It looked so convincing, it was frightening to me,” actor Paul Reiser reveals about the physical transformation that he would undergo each day on the set of “The Kominsky Method” as a special guest star for its second season. He explains in an exclusive interview with Gold Derby about his recurring role as retired schoolteacher Martin Schneider (watch the video above), “They wanted to make me look closer to Michael Douglas. Michael’s about 10 years older than I am and they wanted to close that gap a bit. He’s already been established, so it was easier to bring me up and they did a great job. Sometimes, when you see prosthetic makeup or aging makeup, you can see it and it looks bad, so that was my one concern.”
Reiser shared in a Best Comedy Ensemble nomination with his co-stars on “The Kominsky Method” at the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year.

Paul Reiser discusses The Kominsky Method, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and meeting Helen Hunt in the latest installment of Rolling Stone‘s “The First Time.”
Reiser kicked off with how he got the role of Martin Schneider on Season Two of The Kominsky Method, adding that he met Chuck Lorre years ago when the showrunner was an intern, “or a baby writer — little diapers, little pencils.”
Reiser had called Lorre to congratulate him on the first season of the Netflix comedy-drama, which stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin.

"At first, the man was believed to be a hiker. Later, his stone age origins were revealed..." Film Movement has debuted a new official Us trailer for Iceman, a stone age survival thriller set in the snowy Ötztal Alps (located on Austria / Italy border). This premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2017, and we originally posted a trailer for it back then. This could be described as an early Neolithic man version of The Revenant, about one man who angrily seeks revenge but must first survive the brutal Ötztal Alps. Jürgen Vogel stars as Kelab, with the full cast including Susanne Wuest, André Hennicke, Violetta Schurawlow, Sabin Tambrea, Martin Schneider, and an appearance by Franco Nero. The film uses an early version of the Rhaetic language. This actually looks pretty damn good, with some epic footage and plenty of gnarly beards. Here's the new official Us trailer (+ another poster) for Felix Randau's Iceman,...
