- Franz Schroedter was born on May 9, 1897 in Berlin, Germany. He was an art director and production designer, known for Aus eigener Kraft (1954), Straßen der Vernuft (1957) and Heute für Morgen (1958). He died on November 14, 1968 in Hamburg, Germany.
- He founded his own production company and from 1954 he realised several documentaries both as a produce and a director.
- When he met the director Carl Froelich in 1925 they teamed up for many years and they worked together for more than 30 movies. Beside it Franz Schroedter still worked for other directors as well.
- The production designer Franz Schroedter gained a foothold in the film business in 1919 after his education at the "Bau- und Kunstgewerbeschule" in Berlin.
- Franz Schroedter was married with the actress Esther Carena.
- After the war he had to overcome with a dry spell before he was able to gain a foothold again in his old profession.
