- Laurent Schwaar is a French American actor.
He has worked with directors such as Raoul Ruiz , Steven Soderbergh , James Ivory, Joan Chen and John Schlesinger among others.
Born South of Paris , near Fontainebleau , he studied geology at Pierre & Marie Curie University, Paris 6. While completing a maitrise in science , he started taking acting classes at the Cours Florent and the Cours du Theatre de l' Atelier. He then worked for a couple of years as a tour leader for Club Med , before moving to New York to pursue acting.
During his time in NY , he took more acting classes with HB studio Stephen Strimpell , did showcases , and got the opportunity to work with Israel Horovitz and to create the lead part of Matthias, in the short play " A funny French husband " , premiered at the Workhouse Theatre in the show " In 10 cities " .
He most recently appeared in Chris Pine's directorial debut " Poolman " and will be in the anticipated Netflix western mini series " American primeval " .
