Slow-motion isn’t just for Zack Snyder films anymore! A Baywatch reboot is in the works at Fox, and the beach will never be the same again! Fox is requesting a sizable script and a penalty deal for the time-honored (and arguably horny) lifeguard drama, with Fremantle and Fox Entertainment co-producing.
We’ve known about a Baywatch reboot since April when Deadline reported Fremantle’s desire to bring fun in the sun back to televisions. At the time, Fox was developing another lifeguard drama, Rescue: Hi-Surf, from John Wells Productions. Rescue, a co-production between Warner Bros. TV and Fox Entertainment, is still going forward, with a fall 2024 launch as the project’s window. Regardless of prepping Rescue: Hi-Surf, Fox is ready to hit the sands with more than one lifeguard drama, hence the Baywatch reboot.

Fox is doubling down on lifeguard dramas with a significant script plus penalty commitment to Baywatch, a reboot of the classic beach series. The new iteration is a co-production between Fremantle and Fox Entertainment.
Deadline revealed exclusively last April that Fremantle was working on a Baywatch remake. At the time, Fox already had started conversations with the indie studio for the potential series while also developing another lifeguard drama franchise, Rescue: Hi-Surf, from John Wells Prods. The latter, a co-production between Warner Bros. TV and Fox Entertainment, was subsequently picked up to series for the 2023-24 season; it is now on track for a fall 2024 launch due to strike-related delays.
Meanwhile, Fox remained interested in Baywatch, potentially as a summer series.

Paramount Pictures has planned on bringing "Baywatch" to the big screen, but it looks like that one of the series original stars is against it. According to Us Magazine, actress Pamela Anderson has slammed the possibility of her reprising her C.J. Parker role in the movie version because she doesn't want to ruin the TV show.
"Never! I'm not going do it," the 42-year-old expressed her thought when asked about the adaptation. "I liked the TV show. I don't like it when they ruin it by making a movie out of it." Anderson joined the series as C.J. when season 3 started in 1992. She stayed as regular for five years until 1997. In 2003, she reprised her role in made-for-tv movie, "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding".
"Baywatch" will be produced by Contrafilm's Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson alongside "Baywatch" creators Michael Berk, Doug Schwartz, Greg Bonann and Michelle Berk. Ditching its straight-up action film idea,...

Celebrating Michael Jackson's Youth: The Stripped Mixes and Hello World - The Motown Solo Collection
Mixing Michael Jackson's solo material with that of The Jackson 5's, The Stripped Mixes rips away layers of production, revealing a young boy with the ability to emote mature emotions at an early age. Of course, that's the irony, considering Michael Jackson's post-thirty-five material is riddled with man-child topics and some pretty contrived acrobatic voicings. But Stripped's vocals sound honest and full of life, despite the family drama at the time of these recordings; and they are presented as round and mostly uncompressed, making this batch one of the most revealing presentations of all the works of The King of Pop. Producers Tom Rowland and Jeff Moskow (with Motown guru Harry Weinger and Mulholland Music's mastering chief Doug Schwartz) lovingly treat the young Jackson's recordings with respect, allowing his notes to breathe and soar whenever possible. Opening with the lone bass...

The show's creators Michael Berk, Doug Schwartz, Greg Bonann and Michelle Berk will produce the updated version, which focuses on two lifeguard candidates struggling with their patroling responsibilities at a busy beach.

It was no secret that Paramount Pictures was developing a movie from that '90s syndicated monster about buxom California lifeguards and their floatation devices, Baywatch. The studio purchased the movie and remake rights to the property four years back and thought that making a straightforward action film would be the right road to go on. Now things have changed; serious action Baywatch movie is out and comedy-action Baywatch is in!
What better way for a movie studio to send a message right now that they want their film to be funny than to hire someone associated with the making of The Hangover? Paramount has done just that and cut a check to Jeremy Garelick to not just rewrite the Baywatch movie script but also direct the picture too. Garelick is a comedy writer; he did an uncredited punch-up to The Hangover and has penned a couple of laffer scripts in development.

A big screen version of the popular '90s TV series "Baywatch" is happening, and Paramount Pictures has set it up to be a comedy movie. Bringing up to the surface the story was Variety which further claimed that the studio picked up scribe Jeremy Garelick to rewrite the original script written by Jay Scherick and David Ronn which was reportedly heavy on action.
Explaining his vision for the comedy, Garelick shared, "It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to 'Stripes' and 'Police Academy,' the comedies I loved growing up. Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were." Beside rewriting the script, the man who recently did an uncredited rewrite on "The Hangover" and is known for his work in "The Break-Up", will also make his directorial debut with this movie.
