True crime is getting more and more entertaining by the day and I don’t if that’s a good thing or a bad one. We have another brilliant true crime drama series, Under the Bridge, created by Quinn Shephard. Based on a 2005 book of the same name by Rebecca Godfrey, the Hulu series is set in 1997 and it follows the murder case of a 14-year-old girl which we see through the eyes of local police officer Cam Bentland and the author Godfrey. Under the Bridge stars Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough in the lead roles with Virtika Gupta, Chloe Guidry, Javon “Wanna” Walton, and Izzy G starring in supporting roles. So, if you love the thrilling and dreadful story of Under the Bridge, here are some other shows that have similar tone and story elements that you should check out next.

Every year the “In Memoriam” tribute at the Oscars leaves off a few fan favorites and 2023 was no exception: Among those who weren’t included in Sunday night’s video montage were Anne Heche, “Saving Private Ryan” star Tom Sizemore and Charlbi Dean, who appeared in this year’s Best Picture nominee “Triangle of Sadness.”
Fans also noted the absence of Cindy Williams: While she was best known for the ’70s TV sitcom “Laverne & Shirley,” she notably appeared in two classic films of the era, George Lucas’ “American Graffiti” and Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation.”
And while the tribute included “Goodfellas” star Ray Liotta, who died unexpectedly on May 26, 2022, his costar Paul Sorvino, who died in July 2022, was left out.

The title “Under the Banner of Heaven” comes from John Taylor, third president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Lds). “God is greater than the United States, and when the Government conflicts with Heaven we will be ranged under the banner of Heaven against the Government.” Taylor was— like his predecessors Brigham Young and Joseph Smith, the church’s famous founder — a professed polygamist. “The United States says we cannot marry more than one wife; God says different.”
Plural marriage is only a small plot point in the FX true-crime limited series “Under the Banner of Heaven,” centering on the 1984 murder of a Mormon mother and her infant daughter. But it’s ultimately what gets Dan Lafferty (Wyatt Russell) excommunicated, and that is a very big deal in Lds-land. “The Laffertys — they’re kind of like the Utah Kennedys,” explains Detective Pyre (played by Andrew Garfield). Laughs his partner,...

After a huge 2021, Andrew Garfield looks to continue his hot streak with the first teaser for “Under the Banner of Heaven,” a new true crime miniseries premiering this spring on FX on Hulu.
Based off of the 2003 nonfiction book from Jon Krakauer, “Under the Banner of Heaven” focuses on a double murder committed by Ron and Dan Lafferty, two Mormon brothers who killed their sister-in-law Brenda and niece Erica in 1984. The brothers were former members of the School of Prophets, a small fundamentalist Mormon group, and Ron claimed he received visions from God ordering him to commit the murders.
The miniseries adaptation of the book will focus on Pyre (Garfield), the police detective assigned to investigate the Lafferty case. As he untangles the mystery and finds evidence linking the church to the crime, Pyre, a devout Mormon himself, undergoes an ugly crisis of faith. The trailer sees the detective examining the crime scene,...

I can go as far as I want to go, if I stick to the rules. I tried to beat the system, and I got the shit kicked out of me. I don't recommend my way to anybody."
