When he went to Berlin to the Trianon theater in 1918 he also joined the film business.
The height of his film career followed in the 20s where took part again in numerous movies.
Before the rise of the sound film Gustav Adolf Semler retired from the film business and concentrated to his stage career again.
He soon became a demanded movie actor and to his first productions belong "Alraune, die Henkerstochter, genannt die rote Hanne" (1918), "Indische Nächte" (1919) and "Lola Montez" (1919).
The actor Gustav Adolf Semler got an acting education by Max Wegner before he got his first stage engagement at the Deutsches Theater in Hannover. Afterwards followed among others engagements in Nuremberg, Darmstadt and Mainz where he also realised some plays as a director.
