Won Broadway's 1971 Tony Award as author of Best Play winner "Sleuth."
Anthony and twin brother Peter have both won The Tony Award for Best Play. Anthony's only nomination/win came in 1971 for "Sleuth". Peter was nominated for "Black Comedy"(1967), and "Lettice and Lovage"((1990), and won for "Equus"(1975) and "Amadeus"(1981).
A former barrister, graduate in law from Trinity College, Cambridge.
In the West End, "Sleuth" played for 2,359 performances, and, playing for more than 2,000 performances on Broadway, won a Tony Award as the best play of 1970.
