Starring Mustafa, Kiara Advani, Ehsan Shanker, Ronit Roy, Dalip Tahil
Directed by Abbas-Mustan
Exactly at the stroke of mid-point the film’s debut making hero does what Shah Rukh Khan did in Baazigar 24 years ago.
Mustafa who is co-director Abbas Burmanwala’s son, pushes a lady to a steep fall. It is interesting to see the producer’s son picking to debut so darkly. Machine is a film about a nasty murky non-brainer of a hero (hence, Machine) who doesn’t think twice before snuffing out lives on his mentor’s order.
Not much thought has gone into the protagonist’s behaviour. Ditto the action. It’s a role that Shah Rukh Khan mythologized in Baazigar except for the fact that his cruel murders were perpetrated to avenge his father’s murder and mother’s humiliation.
Our cinema is all about loving one’s parents, remember? Ransh, the hero as...

Amitabh Bachchan is once again putting on the mantle of Sarkar and we can’t wait! We can know reveal that Ram Gopal Varma’s most anticipated franchise Sarkaar 3 will be releasing on 17th March 2017.
About the film Ram Gopal Varma wrote, “My vision for Sarkar 3
When I made my first Sarkar, the principal motivation for me was to create a character more powerful than Mr.Bachchan ever performed. Sarkar is not just about the physical aspects of power, but It is also about an ultra quiet intensity in how he demonstrates it.
I frankly can imagine Godfather without a Brando but I believe that Amitabh Bachchan is the only actor who possesses the kind of magnetism and charisma to make a character like Sarkar come alive. The mythological mystique, the physical audacity, the grace, and above all the anger he possesses is what has always inspired me about...

If the grapevine in Chennai is to be believed we shall see India's two greatest living icons of cinema together in the same film.
We're talking about none other than Rajinikanth, the Emperor of Tamil cinema, and Amitabh Bachchan, the Shahenshah of desi entertainment. The two are all set to come together for the sequel to director Shankar's 2010 blockbuster Robot which became a historic hit in the South.
Most trade specialists felt Robot underperformed in the North because it lacked a pan-India star presence. That lacuna would now be filled. In the sequel to Robot, Big B, a big supporter of the Rajiinikanth school of acting, is being roped in.
Sources say Shankar has conceived "a very khulasa (frank) role for Bachchan Saab in Robot 2."
The last time that the two mega-stars came together was in 1985 for Geraftaar.

2015 is proving to be more and more lucky for Akshay Oberoi… After Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor, Indo-Brit film Bombairiya and bagging a special appearance with Deepika in Piku, Akshay Oberoi has been signed for yet another interesting film called Gurgaon as the lead.
Gurgaon, directed by national award winning cinematographer Shanker Raman is co produced by Ajay G Rai and Alan McAlex of Jar films and Mukesh Chhabra. Jar also produced India’s official entry to Oscars – Liar’s Dice starring Nawazuddin and Mukesh Chhabra. Interestingly, while Akshay was shooting for Fitoor in Kashmir, Ajay Rai, who is the line producer on Fitoor liked his work and recommended his name to the director of the film. Shanker saw few scenes from Akshay’s film Pizza and the public service ad he had done and liked him instantly.
Akshay will be seen a totally new look and role in the film.

When Jadavpur University professor Ambikesh Mahapatra e-mailed a cartoon mocking an Indian politician to friends, he probably didn’t expect to be arrested by local police in a midnight raid. Appallingly, Mahapatra and neighbor Subrata Sengupta were arrested in such a raid in April, and their case comes to trial in September. In response to the arrests, the West Bengal Human Rights Commission has asked authorities to take disciplinary action against the arresting officers and to compensate the men for their discomfort.
The Times of India shared the story, writing:
The duo got bail the next day, but the uproar caused by the arrests led to the Wbhrc taking up the case on its own. The recommendations, which came on Monday, are, however, not binding on the government. Neither will they have any bearing on the ongoing case, which will come up for hearing at Alipore court on September 27. The...

Since the day Dharma Productions’ unveiled the first look of their 2012 remake of yesteryear hit Agneepath, one thing was for sure – that the film will be devoid of Dharma Productions’ trademark extravagant song sequences. That is, stars lavishly dressed in Manish Malhotras dancing to Farah Khan’s directions with 1,000,000 extras in the background to a familiar tune claiming to be new.
Accordingly, audiences and critics alike had no hopes or expectations of a typical Dharma Productions soundtrack from Agneepath, a presumption that was affirmed when Ajay and Atul Gogvale of Singham fame were announced as the music directors of the film rather than the likes of Shankar-Eshaan-Loy and Vishal-Shekar. On the outset Agneepath’s soundtrack is made up of 6 tracks, no remixes, and features the vocal talents of Sunidhi Chauhan , Shreya Ghosal, Roop Kumar Rathod (Tujh Mein Rab Dikta Hai – Rab Ne Bana De Jodi), Sonu Nigam , Sukwinder Singh,...

Beyonce Knowles’s video for her new single, Run The World (Girls), has left a question mark on the international pop singer’s originality. The American pop star’s song shows her taming two drooling hyenas in reins, dominatrix style, just the way actor Rajinikanth walks with robotic lions on a leash in the song Arima Arima from Robot. Decades of heat and humidity damaged only known copy of 1948 release, and film was close to being lost forever

But decades of tropical heat and humidity severely damaged the only known copy of Kalpana, and the film was close to being lost forever.
Now it has found an unlikely saviour: Martin Scorsese. The American director's World Cinema Foundation, set up to preserve classics of film history around the globe, plans to start restoring the neglected classic within months.
News that the director of Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas has thrown his weight behind the project provoked delight among south Asian film buffs.
