Meghan Markle’s been spotted without her diamond engagement ring from Prince Harry as of late. Some may see it as a sign the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage isn’t doing well, but a commentator’s not worried about the ring’s absence. Instead, they’re chalking it up to “practicality.”

A gold band replaced Meghan’s engagement ring, which Harry designed himself, when the former Suits star appeared in an Instagram post. Meghan beamed sitting with poet Cleo Wade and hair colorist Kadi Lee, in a snapshot posted to the latter’s @highbrowhippie Instagram story.
“Belated bday celebrations w/ these lovely muses,” Lee wrote in the caption, presumably referencing Meghan turning 42 on Aug. 4, 2023. She also added the three were “missing sweet” Serge Normant, the stylist who did Meghan’s hair for her 2018 royal wedding,...

In his latest book, Our King: Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, biographer and royal expert Robert Jobson wrote of the king’s shock regarding his sons. Specifically how the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex’s less endearing qualities could prove “detrimental.”
King Charles, he claimed, experienced moments of surprise at William and Harry’s “sometimes vicious tempers, which remind him of their late mother Princess Diana’s umbrage,” (via Page Six).

It seems reconciling with Prince Harry won’t be on the royal family’s schedule come King Charles III’s coronation. A commentator says patching things up will be the “last thing” they’ll want to do amid the celebration. Until then, the royal family will be “focused” on major events leading up to the May 2023 ceremony.

Despite reports in the British media of William not wanting his brother at the coronation and King Charles supposedly turning to the Archbishop of Canterbury for assistance in the British media, royal commentator Robert Jobson believes no “real contact” has been made.

For the first time in nearly a decade, Pixar Animation Studios is taking the year off. The Emeryville-Calif.-based company will not be releasing a film in 2014, and it also finds itself in an interesting position, striving to maintain its identity as a haven for bold original visions while at the same time seeing some of its biggest successes inevitably move into franchise and sequel terrain. Wednesday night representatives of the studio took over a theater in West Hollywood's Directors Guild of America (DGA) headquarters to present materials from one such original vision from "Monsters, Inc." and "Up" director Pete Docter: "Inside Out." The film is set for release exactly one year from now, on June 19, 2015. Producer Jonas Rivera quipped that such a seemingly long lead is "dog years" in animation time, where projects typically move at a glacial pace for years on end. When he and Docter finished...

First the history, then the list:
In 1969, Jerome Hill, P. Adams Sitney, Peter Kubelka, Stan Brakhage, and Jonas Mekas decided to open the world’s first museum devoted to film. Of course, a typical museum hangs its collections of artwork on the wall for visitors to walk up to and study. However, a film museum needs special considerations on how — and what, of course — to present its collection to the public.
Thus, for this film museum, first a film selection committee was formed that included James Broughton, Ken Kelman, Peter Kubelka, Jonas Mekas and P. Adams Sitney, plus, for a time, Stan Brakhage. This committee met over the course of several months to decide exactly what films would be collected and how they would be shown. The final selection of films would come to be called the The Essential Cinema Repertory.
The Essential Cinema Collection that the committee came up with consisted of about 330 films.
