The former "Mercy" actor will be trading in his scrubs to play a counselor on the first two episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" this coming seventh season, the network confirms to Zap2it.
Following the horrifying shootings in the season finale that left many dead, injured or traumatized, the survivors are going to need process the tragedy. Enter Andrew Perkins (Tupper), a trauma counselor sent to Seattle Grace to help them deal with the aftermath. The casting was first reported by EW.
Tupper played Dr. Chris Sands on the recently departed medical drama "Mercy" on NBC and Jack Slattery on the less recently departed "Men in Trees."
Season 7 of "Grey's" returns with the episode "With You I'm Born Again" on Sept. 23.
