Archstone Entertainment has acquired international rights to “American Dreamer,” a dark comedy starring Peter Dinklage, Shirley MacLaine, Kim Quinn, Matt Dillon and Danny Glover. Paul Dektor (“Frayed”) directs a script written by Theodore Melfi (“Hidden Figures”).

Legendary actor James Caan passed away at the age of 82 back in July – but well before he passed away, he had already shot his scenes for the creature feature thriller Dark Harvest, and Variety reports that the producers and directors Andrew Dymond and André Gordon are planning to shoot the film’s final scenes in January. Cannes - South African actor/comedian David Kau of Blitz Patrollie and Taxi Ride fame, has inked a production and distribution deal with La-based Archstone Pictures and Archstone Distribution, to co-produce and distribute his new film Sekwankwetla.Based at the Los Angeles Center Studios in Los Angeles, Archstone Pictures currently produces and co-produces 3-5 films per year and has completed production on two films so far this year, including the action/thriller Awaken and the action/adventure Out of the Burning Blue, both currently being shopped at the Cannes market.The deal was sealed on Tuesday May 20th at the Sa Pavillion with Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin, Founders...

La-based Archstone Distributon has lined up two new titles for sale at Cannes and will be commencing talks on Out of the Burning Blue and Julia.
WWII action adventure Out of the Burning Blue stars Chris Klein [pictured], Victoria Summer and Werner Daehn.
Klein plays an American pilot who along with a female German-speaking interpreter ventures into the Arabian desert to extract a downed German pilot with top secret information.
Noir thriller Julia screens three times in the market and is styled as a revenge story about a traumatised woman who resorts to an unusual form of therapy.
Archstone’s Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin also represent sales title Gutshot Straight.
