Goldwyn Films has revealed an official US trailer for a Italian adventure musical called The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli. Arriving on VOD this December after first premiering earlier this year. Merging world-class music with intimate conversations in the awe-inspiring Italian countryside, it is an exploration of the moments that define us, the songs that inspire us, and relationships that connect us to what matters most in life. Grammy-winning recording engineer Mark Capps was shot and killed by police at his home in Nashville on Thursday, hours after he was accused of holding his wife and stepdaughter at gunpoint.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Capps awoke his 60-year-old wife and 23-year-old stepdaughter at 3 a.m., held them at gunpoint in their home and refused to let them go, telling them that if they attempted to call anyone, he would kill them.
When the 54-year-old engineer fell asleep, police said, the women escaped the home and fled to the Hermitage precinct, telling authorities they were in fear of Capps. Arrest warrants were issued for Capps, charging him with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault, and three Swat officers were sent to his home, said police spokesman Don Aaron.
When the officers approached the house, Capps allegedly opened the front door with a pistol in hand, Aaron said during a briefing.

Broadcast television is enough of a no-man’s-land right around the holidays that some old-school celebrate-the-arts programming manages to sneak in, offering the sight of very classy people in their tuxes for the benefit of those of us who haven’t gotten out of our pajamas in a couple of days. On the heels of last week’s excellent pre-Christmas Paul Simon tribute special, CBS is back on Wednesday night with “The 45th Annual Kennedy Center Honors,” offering a beautiful illusion of D.C. as a functional city in which scrappy rockers, gospel singers and mezzo sopranos can reach across the aisle, just like their political counterparts, and we really are a civilized nation united by, among so many other things, our shared appreciation for the arts. Just don’t leave the news on afterward to break the spell.

She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Amy Grant is putting her health first. On Friday, the 61-year-old singer’s management team announced that she is postponing her previously scheduled tour dates in September and October “due to needing more time to recover from injuries and a concussion sustained in a bicycling accident that occurred in Nashville on July 27.”
“Amy is getting stronger every day. Just as she did after her heart surgery, we are amazed at how fast she heals,” Grant’s manager, Jennifer Cooke, said in a statement. “However, although she is doing much better, we have made the difficult decision to postpone her fall tour so she can concentrate on her recovery and rebuild her stamina. She wants to be able to give 100 when she tours and, unfortunately, we do not think that will be the case by the time rehearsals would start for the fall dates.”

“The Jesus Music,” a film about the Christian music scene that earned more than half a million dollars over its opening weekend, is about as friendly and far removed from being an expose as a documentary can get, but that doesn’t mean the filmmakers want fans to think they’re getting anything but unvarnished truth. So the opening moments feature some of the movie’s primary participants — including Kirk Franklin, the three former members of DC Talk, Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith (the last two of whom are also among its executive producers) — sitting down for their interviews with tight faces and grim demeanors, as if about to be forced to spill their darkest secrets. But this introductory sequence doth protest too much: “The Jesus Music” is an altogether celebratory film made by the industry for its fans and, as with a lot of contemporary Christian music, throwing...

Lionsgate’s Nicolas Cage self-parody feature The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will open on April 22, 2022. The title was previously unset.
In the action comedy, Nicolas Cage stars as… Nicolas Cage. Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor must take on the role of a lifetime: Nicolas Cage. Cage, of course, plays himself, with Sharon Horgan, Alessandra Mastronardi, Jacob Scipio, Lily Sheen and Neil Patrick Harris also starring in the Tom Gormican-directed and co-scripted movie.

For the first time in months, “Frozen” will not be in the No. 1 or 2 spot on the Billboard 200 next week. Instead, “Xscape,” a posthumous Michael Jackson album featuring ‘’contemporized” versions of eight previously unreleased Jackson cuts, is in a dead heat with The Black Keys’ “Turn Blue” for the top spot. Both are slated to sell up to 155,000, according to Hits Daily Double. Read our review of “Xscape” here and of “Turn Blue” here. If Jackson comes in on top, it will be his first No. 1 album released since his death: "Michael," released in 2011, debuted and peaked at No. 3. If The Black Keys prevail, it will be their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. They join four other debuts in the Top 10: Rascal Flatts’ “Rewind” will likely bow at No. 5 (60,000), Dolly Parton’s “Blue Smoke” at No. 4 (40,000), Tori Amos’ “Unrepentant Geraldines” at No. 8 (19,000) and Michael W. Smith’s “Glory” at No.
