General Hospital (Gh) spoilers note that recasts are a thing in the land of Port Charles – just like any other daytime drama!
Still, when Soap Opera Digest (Sod) recently asked some of our favorite Gh actresses about the advice they’d give someone who was stepping into a recast role, their answers brought home similar messages.
General Hospital Spoilers – Laura Wright’s Advice For Recasts
Gh spoilers note that Laura Wright knows a thing or two about recasts. While it seems like she has been in the Carly Spencer role “forever” she was Carly recast #5, taking the character over in 2005. Her advice when stepping into the shoes of an already established character?
She tells Sod, that they should “watch what they have to watch” from a previous actor to learn relationship dynamics with other characters on the show; however, they should also, let it go and bring their own dynamic.

The Kathy Bates-led reboot of "Matlock" may not hit TV screens for a while longer, but in the meantime, fans of the much-loved legal drama can still catch old episodes of the original run, well, pretty much everywhere. For cable-watchers, the show airs reruns in syndication, while home media junkies can get a DVD box set and those who prefer to stream can catch all nine seasons on Prime Video or PlutoTV.
"Matlock" aired for nine years, moving from NBC to ABC partway through its run and switching up its cast list throughout. Though several actors played more than one character throughout the series' run, only a handful appeared in more than 30 episodes of the series, most of them as Ben Matlock's legal associates. Of the main cast, Andy Griffith, Clarence Gilyard Jr., David Froman, and Richard Newton have all since passed away. Several remaining cast members continue...

A consultant for Robert Kennedy Jr.’s 2024 campaign registered the website for Kennedy and his potential vice presidential selection, New York Jets quarterback and fellow vaccine skeptic Aaron Rodgers, according to digital records reviewed by Rolling Stone.
Kennedy recently told The New York Times that Rodgers was on his shortlist for vice president — though he appeared to pop that trial balloon on Friday. “We have an extraordinary person, I can’t tell you who it is, but it’s not any of the people they’ve been talking about,” the candidate told supporters.

It's rare that viewers still don't know the truth by the end of an hour of Law & Order.
But Law & Order Season 23 Episode 2 featured an accused murderer who claimed a billionaire went to a ton of trouble to frame him and a last-minute security video that may or may not have been faked, and no clues as to who was telling the truth.
As the credits rolled, Price worried about how he was supposed to do his job when the lines between real and fake were so blurred, leaving viewers to scratch their heads about what the truth was here.
That was the point, of course.
This story bordered on dystopian, featuring AI technology so good that it was impossible to tell whether a video was real or fake. It imposed that confusion on viewers to make its point.

The controversial 1981 horror movie Nightmare – also known as Nightmares in a Damaged Brain – is coming back to life on 4K Uhd from Severin Films, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report this afternoon. The film has been scanned from the internegative and various foreign print sources to create the most complete version ever assembled!
Severin is also publishing a 193 page novelization of the film, written by Rue Morgue’s Michael Gingold, based on the original screenplay by Romano Scavolini.
It’s been called “graphic and unapologetic” (SexGoreMutants), “brutally effective” (Screen Rant) and “a forgotten classic” (Horror News). It remains the most reviled, controversial and misunderstood genre film of the ‘80s. Now “the most repulsive, degrading and horrifying movie ever made” (NY Daily News) can be experienced like never before.

Wheel of Fortune‘s Star Wars week got off to a hot start on Monday (May 29) when a contestant won the $100,000 bonus prize, but things proved a little trickier for the three players on the May 30 episode. Faced with a puzzle in the “Fun and Games” category, Christopher Borja, Adura Awosika, and Kate Stafford struggled to find the correct answer, despite the majority of the letters having been revealed already. The letter board read “_ A M _ _ _ _ O _ T S _ _ _ T H _ M O V _ _ T H _ A T _ R,” which led to Awosika guessing, “Gaming outside the movie theater.” But, of course, these weren’t the letters they were looking for. In the end, it was Stafford, who was wearing Princess Leia-style buns, who managed to figure out the correct answer, “Camping outside the movie theater.” “Adura is having one of those episodes. Where the theatrical romcom seems to be undergoing a moment of crisis – struggling to honor the patented formulas of yore while meeting the demands of the modern multiplex crowd – TV looks to have adapted more rapidly and skilfully to the recent remapping of gender relations and personal boundaries.
One creative response has been to engineer intentionally cringier, Larry David-influenced variations on the romcom theme: shows reliant upon the acquired taste of foot-in-mouth, where far from star-crossed lovers make altogether unsmooth progress towards happiness, traversing an ever-shifting minefield of social mores.
Eight-part Aussie comedy “Colin From Accounts” – currently wooing BBC viewers after debuting on Antipodean streaming service Binge late last year – follows in the footsteps of the much-adored Sharon Horgan/Rob Delaney vehicle “Catastrophe.”

Ask around, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who has not seen at least an episode or two of the popular game show Wheel of Fortune. However, he wasn’t the first to be in that iconic position. Wheel of Fortune hired Pat Sajak after the original host asked for more money.

The "showbiz satire" movie is almost as old as the cinematic medium itself. From "Sullivan's Travels" to "The Player" and most recently "Babylon," a look at the darker, goofier, unglamorous, seedier side of moviemaking has become a perennial for Hollywood in more ways than one.
Yet most of these films utilize an exaggerated effect to make their commentary on show business that much more biting, whether it's surrealism (as in Federico Fellini's "8 1/2"), a musical (like "Singin' in the Rain"), or horror (such as "Wes Craven's New Nightmare"). It's rare for such showbiz films to not be satirized in some fashion, yet David Cronenberg's "Maps to the Stars" is just such a movie.
Of course, that depends on who you ask. Most people would see the uncomfortable and darkly hilarious "Maps to the Stars" as unequivocal satire, seeing as how it brings together an ensemble of bizarrely...

In the words of Micheal Ray Richardson, “The ship be sinking.”
The defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams have suffered yet another blow to their hopes for this season, forced to put quarterback Matthew Stafford on injured reserve today with a neck strain.
Stafford could conceivably return by the penultimate game of the season in Week 17. But with the Rams sitting in last place in the NFC West with a 3-8 record, it’s unlikely that game will have any meaning to the team’s playoff chances.
The Rams already lost star receiver Cooper Kupp, last year’s Super Bowl Mvp, to a high ankle sprain. Receiver Allen Robinson also went out with a foot injury earlier this week.
On the other side of the ball, defensive tackle Aaron Donald will also miss Sunday’s game, the first time in his career he has not played because of an injury.

“I’m backstage, and this is, like, not a part of the show, but I’m taking a mean s**t, so please forgive me. But I’m gonna be like a minute or two, and I’ll be right back,” he said in a clip captured by an audience member.
The next day, the “Industry Baby” rapper shared the fan video and tweeted, “lmao people really thought i was joking, i was literally back there dropping demons into that toilet.”

The first half was competitive; the second half had no Hollywood ending for the team from La La Land. Thursday’s National Football League regular-season opener saw the defending Super Bowl Champions the Los Angeles Rams fall to the visiting Buffalo Bills 31-10. As a result, NBC and Peacock’s Total Audience Delivery (Tad) also fell — hard — from the comparable 2021 NFL Kickoff Game.
NBC and Peacock registered a projected Tad of “21-plus” million viewers across NBC TV, Peacock, and NFL Digital platforms, based on preliminary data shared by NBC Sports (tweet is below). Last year’s game — a thriller that saw Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the so-called America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, 31-20 — scored 26 million viewers. That was the best delivery for an NFL Kickoff Game since 2015 (27.4 million viewers for the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots), and rose 20 percent from 2020’s Houston Texans vs.
