- Filmmaker Mandy Fabian's debut feature Jess Plus None (2023) received a New Narratives grant from Warner Bros One-Fifty and the WIF ReFrame Stamp, a mark of distinction for projects that achieve gender balance in hiring, and made its world premiere at 2023 BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival. For television, Mandy co-created and directed The Young Hillary Diaries, Lifetime's first digital series, was awarded a fellowship from the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directing Program, and was named "Best New Filmmaker of the Year" by NewFilmmakers LA. On the writing side, she was a Story Editor on S4 of Web Therapy (2011) (Showtime), and her screenplay Late Bloomer was selected for the NYWIFT Meryl Streep/Oprah Winfrey Writers Lab, and in 2020 she was one of six directors chosen to lead an all-female crew for the Women's Weekend Film Challenge. Mandy also wrote the Amazon digital series Dropping the Soap (2017), which won Jane Lynch an Emmy for Best Actress in a Short Form Original in 2017. Several of Mandy's award-winning short films received theatrical distribution with Last Weekend (2022), and include Last Weekend (2022), Somebody's Mother (2014), and Killing Vivian (2013).
