- On 6/7/2000 he was arrested on charges of corporal injury to a spouse and false imprisonment. Bail was set at $500,000, which was posted by a bonding company after Steed paid the 10% fee. He never showed up for his trial date in 2001, the bonding company was forced to forfeit the bail and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is reported to have fled the country and, as of 2006, to be living in South America.
- In 2001 the X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) held its 17th Annual Awards show, in which it honored Jake by inducting him into the XRCO Hall of Fame. He was noted for his 12-year work in the industry. He is the youngest male to ever be inducted into the critics Hall of Fame.
- He always raps for five minutes during the opening and closing credits of his series, "Chillin' with Jake Steed's Freaks Whoes & Flows".
