The last season of Arrow on The CW left us with inconsolable grief, not just because the long-running series ended after eight seasons, but for Oliver Queen making the ultimate sacrifice and giving up his life to birth the universe anew.
The last few adventures of the Green Arrow were an emotional rollercoaster for fans, but the producers made sure that Oliver would receive the ending he deserved as the hero that kickstarted the Arrowverse. In fact, the writers wrote “Crisis on Infinite Earths” in a way that allowed the character to rebirth the multiverse and essentially create the Arrowverse as we know it, fulfilling the promise of becoming something else in the process.
Of course, the story didn’t end there and Arrow fans got to say a proper goodbye to the folks they’ve come to know and love in an explosive finale that saw the return of many old and new faces.

The CW’s Arrow resumed Season 7 by dropping a bombshell on Oliver, while the future timeline dropped a couple more breadcrumbs — including the identity of the entity that wanted Felicity Smoak dead.

Krypton is wasting no time as the search for Brainiac continues in the latest chapter.
But Krypton Season 1 Episode 4 pulls a twist when a mysterious figure enters Seg's life.
So far throughout Krypton Season 1, the Voice of Rao has been of my favorite mysteries. Mostly because of that mask of his that both fascinates and intimidates me!
I appreciate how "The Word of Rao" opened up with it being focused on him. It gives us an insight into what his life behind the curtain looks like.
Even though he is quite peaceful, the Voice still comes off as scary. I think it is the multi-faced mask that does the trick.
However, the Voice made it quite clear that he has no problem going a little corrupt. The fact that the Voice was willing to put the blame on Lyta was crazy.

Taking place a few months after the events of the season one finale, last night's "Arrow," entitled "City of Heroes," starts off with what you assume is a flashback but is then revealed to be present day Oliver Queen running through the dense forests of Lian Yu. Apparently, he has not taken the death of his best friend, Tommy Merlyn, well at all. Never the less, Diggle and Felicity somehow manage to find Oliver on this mysterious island in the middle of nowhere and successfully persuade him to come back to Starling City.
In the wake of Malcolm Merlyn's wrath, the Glade lies in ruin with the percentage of homeless people in Starling City now at an all time high. Not to mention the hundreds of people that were killed during the season finale. Returning to his hometown, Oliver makes one thing perfectly clear; he's not back to be the hood.

About one year ago, "Arrow" premiered, bringing the comic-book character of Oliver Queen -- otherwise known as the Green Arrow -- to television. Now the show is back for its Season 2 premiere, "City of Heroes."
The show is just as good as it ever was, but almost everything else has changed.
The vigilante becomes a hero
If you look back at Season 1 of "Arrow," Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) wasn't exactly the heroic type. Yes, he was on the side of good (for the most part), and he didn't kill people unnecessarily. But he did do a lot of killing. Along with that, most of Oliver's vigilantism was targeted against the people on his father's list.
Oliver may have been against those who had "failed" Starling City, but the Hood wasn't exactly the best solution.
That's changed when Season 2 begins. Oliver has changed, after all, ever since he didn't stop the Undertaking.

There has been so much discussion about the topics that happened in the Arrow Season 1 finale that I almost forgot we hadn't checked back in with Starling City since then.
In "City of Heroes" we learned that instead of sticking around for the fallout from the disaster of Malcolm Merlyn's Undertaking, Oliver skipped town and let Starling City fend for itself.
That didn't seem like the reaction of a hero, did it?
As the city started to rebuild, Oliver had retreated to his island and only when Diggle and Felicity tracked him down did he return - not to act as the vigilante, but to attempt to save Queen Consolidated from a hostile takeover by Isabel Rochev (Arrow Season 2 guest star Summer Glau).
Needless to say, there have been a lot of changes in Oliver's absence, not only in real life, but in relation to his recollection of his previous...

Arrow Season 2 starts this Wednesday October 9th. You may have forgotten what happened in the first season due to post-traumatic stress disorder. Or, you might have missed it entirely and now want to tune in because of all those shirtless promo posters of the male cast. Not to worry, we’ll catch you up on the story to date!
The show is divided into two timeframes, first there’s….
Island Time (h/t Piper8)
The players:
Yao Fei: Oliver’s first playmate on Magical Ninja Island. They have a somewhat rocky relationship. For instance, their first meeting was Yao shooting him with an arrow. But it was only for the very best of reasons, really. This sets up a pattern of abuse that borders on comical, as it is a toss-up at any given time if Yao will protect him or beat him down.

To whomever coined the term, “Sweet Sixteen”, you sir or madam are a liar. I remember my sixteenth year being one of the worst years of my life. It all started a couple months shy of my sixteenth birthday when my mother told us that our father had been abusing some substances, which I will remain nameless. She told us that there may be a slight chance of us moving to Texas to live with my aunt. That’s how serious the condition of my father’s addiction really was. That was just my home life. That’s not to mention the subjects in school I was failing and the issues with the girl I was dating at the time. All of this started coming down and weighting on me pretty darn heavy.
So I thought and pondered over a few sleepless nights and broke up with that girlfriend and...

As all "Arrow" fans know by now, Malcolm Merlyn is a very evil man. Last week, Oliver Queen finally came to the realization that his best friend's father is not only the man responsible for kidnapping Walter Steele, but he's also the man directly responsible for his father's death. However, there's still one thing about Merlyn that Oliver has yet to figure out: he's also the deadly Dark Archer, a.k.a. the only villain in Starling City that has been able to defeat the hooded vigilante.
Tonight's episode of "Arrow," entitled "Darkness on the Edge of Town," is the second to last episode of this season, which means it's guaranteed to be action-packed and full of answers to this season's mysteries. That being said, we have a clip from tonight's "Arrow," featuring the Dark Archer himself, that actually raises more questions than answers. You can check it out below.

In a break from tradition, this episode of Arrow added a few new things, and has completely turned the format on it’s head. While there were none of Oliver’s flashback scenes from the Island, they exchanged it instead for Robert Queen’s, Oliver’s father, flashbacks. The episode also marked an increasing of screen time for Felicity Smoak, Oliver’s wisecracking sidekick, who is sent in the field for the first time with a great impact and often it is Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards, who steals the scenes from her boss. This episode also marked a return to the Oliver and Laurel relationship, with some of the flashback scenes showing what the relationship was before Oliver boarded the boat, as being in a committed relationship, which contrasted with how he was initially portrayed at the start of the series as a party...

With only a few episodes left this season, last night's episode of "Arrow" finally answers one burning question: "What happened to Walter Steele"? After being kidnapped in episode nine, Walter has been mysteriously M.I.A. throughout the entirety of this season. However, with a laptop that Oliver steals from a crooked accountant, Felicity is finally able to get a lead on Oliver's missing stepfather.
"The Undertaking" actually addresses a number of key questions raised in last week's episode. At Club Verdant, Laurel sits alone at the bar miserably sipping from a cup of horrible coffee as she mourns the end of her latest relationship. As Laurel reveals to Oliver that she and Tommy are now broken up, Oliver suggests that Laurel go talk to Tommy, something that he and Laurel never had the chance to do. Then Felicity shows up.
After about a day's work hacking into the crooked accountant's computer,...

Being younger in High School, I loathed history class and I’m sure that I’m not the only one feeling that way. Granted, I had some really awesome teachers but still the subject they were teaching didn’t really grab my attention. Being older now, I look at our culture and see the cool side of this much hated subject. However, we’re taught history in mediums in which we may look at and not even see history. Take for example: Comic Books. The majority of the characters that are written for the film, television show, or audio dramatic audiences already have history to them. It’s just a matter of having the passion to know more about it. Have you ever seen a film or television show that you loved so much, you wanted to know every small detail about it? Let’s be honest, I know I...

Marc Guggenheim and company took the stage for a Wondercon panel this weekend, and with it, came a couple of goodies. A sizzle reel previewing the rest of season 1 was revealed, as well as a couple of plot points.
Guggenheim revealed that “episode 21 is the first time we flashback to a point that wasn’t on the island…We’ll be flashing back to before the ill-fated boat trip.” These pre-island flashbacks will allow actor Colin Salmon to return as Walter Steele.
Watch the sizzle reel, which just makes me think of Sizzler (not a good thing):
The show stars Stephen Amell, Willa Holland Katie Cassidy, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Susanna Thompson and Paul Blackthorne.

While executive producer Marc Guggenheim may have kept pretty quiet about the twists and turns awaiting Oliver Queen in the rest of "Arrow's" first season, he did show off a sizzle reel containing exciting new footage from the rest of the season. The sizzle reel, which debuted at Wondercon in Anaheim this past weekend, can be viewed in full below, followed by the one tasty tidbit Guggenheim felt fine dropping.
Pretty exciting, right? While some of the footage comes from the previously teased "Unfinished Business" (airing on Wednesday), the rest is all new.

As a memorable first season of CW’s Arrow, somewhat based on DC comics Green Arrow character, continues – the latest episode “Dead to Rights” is a compilation of why it has been such a stunning TV Show. Set half in modern Starling City, where Green Arrow takes down the bad guys with a Batman-esque style (Dark Knight Batman, not kitsch old school Batman), this episode focuses on the relationships of Felicity Smoak and John Diggle, and Oliver’s relationship with Tommy, as well as Tommy’s relationship with his father.
At the start of this episode, we see Felicity Smoak, the latest addition to the Green Arrow’s entourage and help, falling to the ground. As the camera zooms out, it is revealed that Diggle, the other man in the Green Arrow’s entourage, is trying to teach Felicity how to fight. The scene builds on the small relationship the two have going.

In a surprising turn of events, last night's episode of "Arrow" was comprised mostly of flashbacks to Oliver Queens's time on the mysterious island of Liànyù. "The Odyssey" picks up precisely where last week's episode left off, with the hooded vigilante breaking into Queen Consolidated and interrogating Moira Queen at arrow-point. Moira, who denies having anything to do with Walter's disappearance, eventually gets the upper hand, shooting her own son with a hidden handgun.
Oliver makes the tough decision of revealing his secret identity to Queen Consolidated's I.T. girl, Felicity Smoak, with the hopes that she will drive him back to the Arrowcave and help remove the bullet from his shoulder. Being that Oliver Queen is technically her boss and also a known murderer, Ms. Smoak quickly agrees to do whatever he so pleases.

You know where we left off last week. Because if you’re a fan of this show, the shocking ending of last week’s episode was burned into your brain and, like me, you were counting the minutes until you could find out what happens next.
Arrow did not disappoint.
Moira plays the defenseless woman to perfection. I am beginning to suspect that she’s even more evil than Malcolm Merlyn. She wails and holds up a picture of her kids and begs for mercy—not for her sake, but for her poor sweet fatherless adult-aged children, who will have to fend for themselves without her, scraping by on their inherited billions.
Oliver’s rage falters before this masterful act. He demands to know what happened to Walter Steele and because Moira is so beautifully evil and not nearly as rattled as she is pretending to be, she tells him...

Kingston will join the cast as Dinah Lance, mother to Laurel (Oliver Queen’s girlfriend) and her late sister Sarah, as well as ex-wife to Detective Quentin Lance.
Kingston joins a growing list of actors on the show who have also appeared on Doctor Who. Kingston plays the enigmatic River Song, a woman with a very convoluted history and lineage. So, I have a confession to make. I kind of thought this show was going to be a silly yet fun romp that would give us some great ab shots and maybe be fun for a season or two. It turns out, this show has some really clever writing and more than a few exceptional performances. This isn’t Smallville. This is something new.
After five episodes, I have to say that Arrow has hit the mark.
We left off last week with Oliver getting busted for being a crazy-sexy arrow-wielding kung-fu-fighting vigilante. Oliver’s response to the allegations was along the lines of, “Dude, would I risk this face fighting crime?”
Oliver wants Laurel to defend him. I think this decision is based mostly on the fact that it will cause Inept Inspector Lance (her daddy) to blow a gasket. Oliver may have learned mad martial arts skills on Magical Ninja Island,...

Hot off the heels of last week's cliffhanger of an ending, "Damaged" begins with a flashback to Oliver Queen's time on that remote island in which the mysterious bearded Asian man (who saved him in previous episodes) is now teaching him how to shoot a bow and arrow. Suddenly, Oliver is kidnapped by a gang of masked men and shoved into a makeshift holding cell in the ground without any sort of explanation.
The present-day action on this week's episode of "Arrow" focuses mainly on the conflict between Oliver Queen and Detective Lance, with Oliver attempting to dissolve any remaining suspicions that the detective may have about Mr. Queen and the hooded vigilante being the same person. But with video evidence of Oliver at the scene of one of Arrow's crimes, it would appear to be a task easier said than done.

Throughout the course of "An Innocent Man," Dig struggles to come to terms with Oliver's criminal killing hobby as he decides whether or not to take Mr. Queen up on his offer.
Meanwhile, Oliver decides to take his little sister, Thea, up on her advice to be himself around Laurel, who thinks of him as nothing more than a selfish jerk. However, knowing Oliver Queen, in order for him to truly be himself with Laurel he must first introduce her to Arrow.
The next morning, Oliver returns home to find a new bodyguard, named Rob, waiting to start guarding his body. Oliver inquires about Diggle's...

Why are we recapping Arrow? Well, because John Barrowman (Ae Hot 100 #8) will be on it and because it comes courtesy of out writer/director Greg Berlanti.
And of course there's this...
We start with our hero serving up Crazy Homeless Guy Chic Realness as he runs through the jungle. Who would ever have thought you could make Stephen Amell unattractive?
Oliver Queen is racing to light the beacon that will signal the nearby ship, but he doesn't go for any meager "S.O.S." spelled out on the beach. No, he sets up an explosive bonfire. Now, it might just be me, but if I were out on the ocean and I spotted an explosion on an island, I'd report it to the authorities and get gone Asap.
Fortunately for Ollie, the fisherman come and find him. As he tells us in a rather overwrought voiceover, the island has forged...

However, being stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere for five years really changes a person, as made apparent by Oliver's desperate and mysterious need to eradicate the scum and villainy from his darling Starling City. Donning a green hooded cowl, Oliver takes to the streets in order to take down one of the biggest crime lords in town: Adam Hunt.

Lost at sea, a quest for vengeance, and a masked crusader, Arrow is the stuff legends are made of – or better yet, heroes. When a young spoiled man finds his entire world stolen from him, the path home and to redemption is thorny and trouble-filled. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) could not foresee that fateful day on his father’s yacht would be a pivot point in destiny; but for him, it was. The man that subsequently came home five years later was not the same. He was no longer the frivolous, carefree billionaire’s son, he was the heir to a fortune, a renown company, and a legacy entrusted by his father to wreak retribution against all those who sought to destroy them. Arrow is not just a tale of vigilante justice, it is a story of a man who takes on the burden of cleaning up Starling City and eradicating the evil rooted there.

The "Arrow" series premiere is finally upon us. Before you make your way to Starling City, however, it would be wise to get yourself acquainted with some of the city's most prominent residents. Read on for our rundown of the key characters you'll meet in the "Arrow" premiere!
» Before donning the emerald hood and wielding the lethal bow, Oliver Queen wasn't any different from many of the other philandering billionaires comic book fans are familiar with: careless, booze-hungry, and completely unable to stay away from women, despite being in a serious relationship. In short: the Oliver of five years ago is a total jerk.
» Things change for our hero due to grisly circumstances: Oliver is involved in an accident while out at sea, one that kills his father and other loved ones, and leaves him stranded alone on a remote island. This is where he spends the next five years of his life.

Though the main cast for "Arrow" has been set for about a month now, there's still plenty of room left for guest appearances. The latest one comes in the form of "Bold and the Beautiful" actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who will be playing Sarah Lance, the sister of Katie Cassidy's Dinah Laurel Lance.
Green Arrow TV broke the news, which Wood confirmed over Twitter. She also said, "For everyone who has been asking if I am leaving ['Bold and the Beautiful'], don't worry I am not. " which seems to support the belief that she will only play a brief role in "Arrow's" pilot episode.
Sarah Lance's role in the pilot is to help show off the Green Arrow's origin. ComicBookMovie.com has learned that Sarah Lance's role "is mostly involved in sequences taking place before the incident that left Oliver Queen on an island for several years." From what we know about Sarah's character,...

Arrow's suit was designed by three-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood. The full image is included below.

See, what did I say? The Green Arrow casting process is far from finished!
Well, maybe not far from finished — it's got to end sometime soon, with filming on the pilot set to begin shortly — but it's certainly not over. Case in point: actor Colin Salmon, a very familiar face for genre fans, has just landed a role on the show.
Variety reports that Salmon will star in The CW's "Arrow" pilot as "Walter Steele, a former business associate of the late Robert Queen and the No. 2 executive at Queen Consolidated. He married Moira Queen following her husband's death at sea and the disappearance of her son, Oliver."
It's unclear if Salmon will be a series regular as Steele, a recurring character, or just a one-off appearance. Either way, the actor's involvement lends some geek gravitas to "Arrow." Fans know Salmon well for his roles in the first "Resident Evil" film,...

The CW's Arrow may be departing from any particular Green Arrow comic story-lines, but they are certainly dipping into the cast of characters that appear on the page. The latest is Walter Steele, who in the comics is CEO of Queen Industries. He seems to be playing a similar role in the show. According to Variety.. Salmon will play Walter Steele, a former business associate of the late Robert Queen and the No. 2 executive at Queen Consolidated. He married Moira Queen following her husband's death at sea and the disappearance of her son, Oliver. Salmon can be seen on the big screen soon in Resident Evil: Retribution, but he is probably most familiar to CBMers for his role in Punisher Warzone. He has also popped up in the likes of Alien Vs Predator, Blood: The Last Vampire and all three of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond movies.
