The first film she made with
John Waters was in 1966 called "The Wizard of
Odd, or Dorothy the Kansas City Pothead." She played Auntie Em. Waters
wrote the script in 8mm with no sound, with the idea that the voices
would be dubbed in later onto a tape recorder. It was never finished
because Waters realized the impossibility of dubbing onto a tape
recorder and the actress in the leading role of the Wicked Witch,
Maelcum Soul, died before the production could be completed.
