His voice is heard as announcer on many of the M-G-M movie trailers,
including those for the first three theatrical releases of "The Wizard
of Oz" - in 1939, 1949 and 1955.
Strickling came into possession of Marie Dressler's Academy Award statuette following her death in 1934, although it is not listed as a bequeath in her last will and testament. As of 1997 it was in the possession of Strickling's niece.
