- In 2005 won the Ohio Independent Film Festival's Best Voice of Color Screenplay for his as yet unproduced screenplay "Micheaux", a bio-pic about Oscar Micheaux, the first Black feature film maker and best selling author. In 2006 the script was named a Top 25 Semi Finalist, out of 1200 entries, in the American Screenwriter Association's 9th Annual International Screenwriting Competition.
