When 20th Century Fox Korea announced last week that Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes would open locally on July 10, one week earlier than previously planned, the South Korean film industry cried foul.
The date change has since drawn fire from local film-makers and press alike and caused at least three films to change their distribution dates.
On the same day as Fox’s announcement on July 4, film importer Main Title Pictures and the Korean Film Producers Association (Kfpa) quickly sent out statements condemning the sudden change in release dates and urging Fox to go back to its original date.
Kfpa cited the long-standing practice of distributors sharing line-up release dates with one another “several months or one year in advance” so that they could prepare and follow through on costly post-production and marketing plans.

During the last 10 t0 15 years football has undergone huge changes throughout the game, from the rise of the use of agents to the influx of foreign players into domestic leagues.
One of the major aspects of the game that has changed the most is the tactical side of the game, particularly how the roles of certain positions on the pitch has changed – how the expectations of a player playing in a particular position has changed. A role that has perhaps undergone the biggest change is that of the wide player.
Prior to the overhaul of football tactics, the wide player played as a winger, and was essentially instructed to run down the line as fast as possible and then produce a good cross for on running team mates to get on the end of and hopefully score. The player didn’t need to possess an excellent football brain as their job was relatively simple.

According to the Times, Queens Park Rangers are preparing a £5 million bid for unhappy Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The 31-year-old Bulgarian forward has admitted that he is far from happy at Old Trafford over his lack of selection in recent seasons and is ready to leave the club in order to find first team football.
Mark Hughes’ Qpr, who survived relegation from the Premier League last season on the final day, have already completed the signing of Manchester United midfielder Park Ji Sung as well as a loan deal for United left back Fabio and are ready to add another Red Devil to their ever growing squad. With 28 goals in his last 44 Premier League appearances, Berbatov has definitely proved his ability to get goals despite being shunned by Sir Alex Ferguson for the likes of Javier Hernadez and Danny Welbeck.

Manchester United comfortably beat Aldershot Town at the Recreation Ground tonight to proceed to the quarter finals of the Carling Cup. In a completely changed line-up to the humiliating derby defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday, goals from Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia sealed progression.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men start the brightest, unsurprisingly, and pressed Aldershot high up the pitch making it hard for the home side to keep possession. Aldershot winger McGlashan looked lively for Town throughout but was man marked by the United defence for much of the match.
Tom Cleverly, who has now returned from injury, had a long-range effort go way over the crossbar on 6 minutes, not worrying ex Charlton keeper Worner in the slightest.
Aldershot forward Hylton went on a mazy run down the left flank before being fouled by Man Utd centre-half Nemanja Vidic, the Serbian picked up a yellow card...

Bedevilled is a surprising first feature from Korean director Jang Cheol-so and writer Choi Gwan-Young. Those familiar with Korean films that have achieved widespread success will know to expect brutal bloody scenes but may still find themselves bowled over by Bedevilled's sudden turn of events.
The first half of Bedevilled focuses on Hae-won, a harsh city bank worker in Seoul who coldly refuses to lend an old woman money in order to save her house. Hae-won witnesses a girl being brutally beaten and ignored by passers by but still refuses to identify the girl's attackers in a line up. Arrogant and bitchy to work colleagues, she's told after over-stepping the mark to have a break from work. Visiting the house on isolated Mood-do island she inherited from her grandfather, Hae-won's break ends up being more life-changing than restful.
What at first appeared to be Hae-won's story soon becomes Bok-nam's – Hae-won's...
