As confirmation of Naya Rivera’s death spread, her former costars and friends took to Twitter to honor the late actress. She was 33.
Rivera died while on an excursion with her 4-year-old son at Lake Piru in Ventura County, Calif. last Wednesday. Other visitors had noticed the young boy, Josey, alone in the boat and notified the authorities.
Josey was recovered unharmed. According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Eric Buschow, Josey said he and Rivera went swimming together but he got back in the boat and his mother didn’t. The search for Rivera lasted for five days, with specialist divers and sonar equipment brought in. Authorities confirmed to TheWrap her body was recovered Monday. Hartwick’s departure is believed to be related to the restructure, and there is no word yet on a potential successor.
The shake-up was addressed this morning in an internal memo sent out by Disney TV Studios president Craig Hunegs, in which he acknowledged that “change can be difficult in the short term,” and that “Dana (Walden) and I will do our best to communicate with you often, with transparency and clarity.”

Disney Television Studios has named Jonnie Davis president of ABC Studios, amid a restructuring in the wake of the Disney-Fox merger that has resulted in the displacement of current head Patrick Moran and ABC Studios executive vice president Howard Davine.
Moran and Davine were both well liked, according to a person familiar with the matter, but Disney TV Studios president Craig Hunegs wanted to infuse ABC Studios with “new blood.”
In an internal memo that Hunegs sent to staff, he acknowledged that “change can be difficult in the short term,” and that “Dana (Walden) and I will do our best to communicate with you often, with transparency and clarity.”
Succeeding Davis is Carolyn Cassidy, who has been upped to president of creative affairs at 20th Century Fox Television, and will run the studio with current president of business operations Howard Kurtzman. Cassidy was most recently executive VP of current programming.

Premiering this week exclusively on Dailymotion is Ben and Burman, a new web series from actor/producer Ben Giroux (Bones, Psych) and his longtime frenemy and Second City’s Scott Burman. The story highlights the pair’s height deficiencies and their Odd Couple cohabitation, which, I’m told, kinda sorta emulates their real life friendship. “We became known as best friends who also hated each other,” said Giroux. “I'm a neat-freak who appreciates order and hygiene. Burman is a slob who appreciates chaos at all times. Together, people started referring to us as a modern-day Odd Couple. Striking up a unique friendship and creating a style of comedy Giroux describes as “if The Three Stooges had sex with South Park,” Giroux and Burman produced the twelve episode series. Then they teamed up with Gary Randall’s Grand Productions (Saving Grace, The Glades). The partnership had definite benefits, as the duo...

It's Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman) and his microphone, so this must be the start of a new school year at McKinley High. We get equal parts heavy-handed exposition and salacious gossip-mongering, just what we need to know that yes, my darlings: Glee is back!
Allow me to recap the recap: Mercedes and Sam are "so last June" and Sam moved out of state when his father got a job. Mercedes has a new football-playing boyfriend, Marcus (Lamarcus Tinker), and he knows she's going to be a big star. Artie and Tina are juniors, but Mike Chang is a senior, as are Finn, Rachel, and Kurt. Finn has absolutely no idea what he wants to be when he grows up, but Kurt and Rachel are heading for New York City as fast as they can click their shiny red heels together and say, "There's no place like Broadway."

Your votes have been counted and your voice has been heard: Cory Monteith is officially King of the Gleeks.
With more than 10,000 "Glee" fans present and accounted for, the final results of our epic "Glee" poll are here and Monteith, who plays quarterback-turned-singer Finn, was the runaway favorite among the up-and-coming cast members to become the biggest future movie star, earning a whopping 53-percent of the vote.
But which of them is the best arm wrestler?
That's just one of the many debates that has now been settled for all time and the answer is Mark Salling, (a.k.a. Puck), who narrowly beat out Kevin McHale (the actor who plays Artie McAbrams, not the legendary Celtics power forward) to the tune of 29% to 22%.
But the other stars weren't left out either. Lea Michele (Rachel Berry), for instance, may have only come in third in the vote for biggest future movie star,...

Chris Colfer and Darren Criss looked quite the dapper, platonic couple in their super-skinny ties, while Dianna Agron continued to make us love her short hair and bangs. Lea Michele worked it for the camera, as she so often does.

Glee star Josh Sussman has admitted that fans needed a break from his character Jacob Ben Israel. Sussman was absent from the show for some time after the 'Britney/Brittany' episode, in which Jacob was seen getting over-excited by New Directions' performance of 'Toxic'. A little more than 15 years ago, Douglas Gorenstein was sitting at lunch with a friend, the actor Ellen Burstyn, when he told her he was dissatisfied with the direction his professional life was taking."I used to own a vintage-clothing company and was on the verge of opening a Manhattan store, but for some reason it wasn't feeling quite right," Gorenstein says. "I told her of my plans and doubts, to which she made a simple comment that changed the direction of my life: 'Doug, at heart you are a creative person, and creative people need creative ways to make a living.' Ellen's poignant advice led me to photography, and the rest, I guess you can say, is headshot history."Gorenstein has photographed actors such as Josh Sussman, Mindy Kaling, Michael J. Burg, Alana De La Garza, Seth Gabel, Jason Tam, Troy Metcalf, Jeff McCarthy, Tina Maddigan, and Natalie Cortez.

Those safe-sex ads I mentioned in yesterday's Briefs have been reinstated, thanks to the outpouring of criticism that ad company Adshel received. Mark Salling and his "Glee" co-star Chord Overstreet could be getting a lucrative offer to strip off from Playgirl magazine. E! News has recently broken the news that the adult publication is ready to spend up to $100,000 to have the actors playing Puck and Sam on the Fox hit series taking their clothes off for a photo spread.
A representative for Playgirl first revealed that the mag is prepared to offer Chord 100 grand just to take it off, adding "he doesn't even have to take it all off". Asked which other "Glee" cast they want, the rep noted, "that Mark Salling who plays Puck. We would definitely want him. We would be very willing to pay for them both - up to 100 thousand. And it wouldn't have to be fully X-rated, either."
While Chord hasn't commented yet on the possible offer, 28-year-old Mark has made a joke out of it.

Ok, there are so many awesome things about this clip for the next new episode of Glee (airing on September 28), I’m not even sure where to start. I guess we could start with John Stamos, who is awesome and hot and cool. It’s also a scene with Brittany and Santana, which are always my favorite. Then there’s Brittany and her mad dancing skills. Seriously, why is this girl not front and center all the time?
Big thank you to E!Online for this awesome sneak peek. You can also check out promo photos we previously posted for this episode. Britney Spears herself will be making an appearance.
