Stuntman, actor and film director Szabolcs Imre Cseh was born in
Miercurea Ciuc and grew up in the city of Brasov. He graduated from the
Bucharest's Institute of Physical Education and Sport in 1966. In the
same year he was hired as fight advisor at Buftea Film Production
Center.
Between 1966 and 1979 he worked on almost all films made by the studios
that contained sequences of action-fighting, and performed the hardest
stunts, some of them being world records at the time. Cseh collaborated
on the making of more than 150 feature and TV films, of which 25 were
foreign productions.
In 1990, Szabolcs Imre Cseh founded the first association of
professional stuntmen in Romania, which he led for many years. He also
taught acting classes at the Romanian National University of Theatre
and Film (from 1979). Between 2005 and 2014 he led a sports association
for children who have problems related to integration into society (The
"Gladiator" Association).
President Traian Basescu posthumously awarded on him the "Star of
Romania" National Order in the rank of Knight. He was also decorated in
2010 with the "Faithful Service" National Order in the rank of Knight.
