The Av Club reports that Masi Oka will reprise his fan-favourite role of Hiro Nakamura for this year's Heroes: Reborn. The time-travelling, teleporting geek Hiro played a key role throughout all four seasons of Heroes' original run from 2006 to 2010, so it's only fitting that he should return for the show's upcoming 13-episode limited-run series revival.
The dynamic between Hiro and his (mostly non-superpowered) best friend Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee) was hilarious, lending the show a much-needed humorous side to balance out the gripping arc-based storytelling drama. Not only that, but their friendship also provided some added emotional resonance. So hopefully James Kyson Lee will also return to complete the double act.
Hiro's relationships with some of the other characters also made for some brilliant storylines. For instance, there's his awkward, doomed romance with the adorable waitress Charlene 'Charlie' Andrews (Jayma Mays), continued in the amazing spin-off novel...

Several new clips from "Dragonball Evolution" have been uncovered. Taking a deeper look into the manga adaptation, most of the clips provide additional never-before-seen footage and bring in some spoilers to the film. Some of the clips also serve as the extended version of the snippets shown in previously-released videos.
One of the clips entitled "The Attack on Gohan" presents the scene where Grandpa Gohan is attacked by Mai. Though he is able to deflect Mai's weapons, he is left powerless when Piccolo enters the room and uses his power to defeat him. Other clips display scenes with Goku, Master Roshi, Bulma, Yamcha and Chi-Chi. Meanwhile, the clip showing Chi-Chi was posted earlier at Yahoo! Movies.

Three new “Dragonball: Evolution” images for you kids to chew on, because frankly, you can never have too many glowing balls. Goku looks kind of weird in the first pic, the second one is the “okay, now you guys look up and act shock!” shot, and the third one has Piccolo looking like he’s getting ready to be turned into Robocop. No idea what that’s about. A young boy named Goku seeks out upon his grandfather’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls (of which he has one) in order to prevent Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world. Television Rating: 3.0/5.0 Chicago – I adored the first, underrated season of “Reaper” and was as puzzled as any TV viewer that the CW saw in their wisdom to delay season two until nearly ten months after the last episode aired. More than ever, television viewers operate in an “out of sight, out of mind” mentality and I don’t see how the delay and the brief season (just 13 episodes) could possibly do anything to build a following for this nearly-cancelled gem.
With all the time off and the anticipation over what is clearly the last chance for this clever program, I have the worst possible news about the second season premiere of “Reaper,” titled “Episode IV: A New Hope”. It’s not that good. In the history of the show, it’s below the median line when it comes to episode quality and I just don’t see how this is...

A few months ago, the CW announced that Reaper would return on March 17th at 9pm. They've now announced that the show will return even earlier, on March 3rd at 8pm. Great news, right? More than likely it's a nail in the show's coffin.
Reaper centers around Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison), a slacker who works at a home-repair superstore alongside friends Sock (Tyler Labine) and Ben (Rick Gonzalez). Sam's life gets turned upside down when he learns that his parents sold his soul to the devil (Ray Wise). As a result, he has to work as a bounty hunter to recapture evil souls. This puts a serious crimp in his efforts to date his crush, Andi (Missy Peregrym). Others in the series include Andrew Airlie, Donavon Stinson, Valarie Rae Miller, Christine Willes, Allison Hossack, Ken Marino, Jessica Stroup, Colby Johannson, Michael Ian Black, Kandyse McClure, and Eriko Tamura.

FilmJunk's speculation about "Dragonball" being in danger of getting canceled seems to hold no truth in it. Following the outing of their report concerning the live-action adaptation film, the movie's official blog, Dragonball the Movie, goes to the bottom of the story and allegedly gets a positive response from the 20th Century Fox.
According to the blog site, the studio have insisted that the information shared earlier was a false one and that the James Wong-directed movie is still slated to be released in April 2009. Supporting Dragonball the Movie was Superhero Flix which noted that a source close to the project has said that the first edit is done and Fox's toppers are digging what they have seen.
Flix went further by stating that their scooper has seen the completed movie and he described it as "pretty darn awesome". Adding to that comment, he even suggested that a sequel may be in consideration saying,...

Though the live action adaptation of the popular Japanese manga, "Dragonball", has fallen into the post-production phase for quite sometime, it might be in serious trouble with words saying that it is in danger of being canceled. A report from FilmJunk suggested that the 20th Century Fox's toppers are considering to shelve the film because they are not impressed with the shot footages.
Despite hinting on the possibility of Fox shutting down the James Wong-directed project, the site noted that the words on the cancellation can be real or only the studio's effort in putting pressure to Wong to make the movie better. No comment is yet being offered by Fox considering this negative story.

Why do I keep writing about Dragonball? Almost everyone who comments on any article I write about it only has negative things to say. Do I have some odd peculiar attraction to it? I'll let you guys debate that one, because today we've got four new high resolution promo photos from Dragonball to share with you! Oddly, these still don't do anything for my interest in the film largely because they're just bland promo photos. However, I guess we do get our first look at Jamie Chung as Chi-Chi and Eriko Tamura as Mai in addition to photos of Justin Chatwin as Goku and Emmy Rossum as Bulma. NBC's sci-fi drama Heroes is casting a wide net for next season, tapping Barry Shabaka Henley, Holt McCallany, Alias alum David Anders, Japanese pop star and actress Eriko Tamura, Lyndsy Fonseca and Dianna Agron for recurring roles.
Anders will play the most intriguing part, that of the ancient samurai warrior Takezo Kensei, Hiro Nakamura's (Masi Oka) childhood hero. While never seen during Heroes' first season, Kensei played a key part in the show's plot. Hiro spent most of the season trying to get ahold of Kensei's sword, which he hoped would help him in his quest to save the world.
In another Japanese connection, Tamura will play a Japanese princess.
Henley will play Detective Fuller, a New York police officer. McCallany will play Ricky, the ringleader of a group of Irish thugs.
Fonseca and Agron will play beautiful cheerleaders in Southern California, where Claire (Hayden Panettiere) is expected to move. Fonseca's character April is sweet, while Agron's Debbie is a mean girl.
