Even though James “Ghost” St. Patrick tried to build a life where his kids wouldn’t have to break the law to get ahead, we’re inclined to think he’d be proud of the way Tariq steps up in the new trailer for Power Book II: Ghost‘s final season.
The video at the top of the post outlines Tariq’s situation when the Starz drama returns in June: He has Noma, Effy and the Tejadas gunning for him, with only his longtime pal/business partner Braden backing him up. And if that weren’t bad enough, he’s...

Marvel has a slew of upcoming projects slated for release in the coming years, many of which have been stalled due to the unprecedented SAG-AFTRA strike that halted the entire industry, resulting in numerous delays and cancellations.
One highly anticipated Marvel Studios project, ‘Blade,’ faced challenges long before the strikes began. It’s an MCU film centered around Eric Brooks, the iconic vampire hunter from comics, serving as a reboot of the beloved ‘Blade’ trilogy that played a pivotal role in shaping the MCU as we know it today.
The production of ‘Blade’ has encountered multiple rewrites and delays, stretching out the timeline considerably from its originally planned 2023 release. There are even reports suggesting that the main actor is reconsidering their role. With no official trailer in sight, Teaser Pro has released a concept trailer for the film, demonstrating that a straightforward formula of Blade battling vampires remains effective. You...

Marvel has plenty of projects bound to be released in the next few years, and we know that most of these projects have been stuck in a sort of limbo due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the whole industry as a whole, causing plenty of projects to be both delayed or altogether canceled.
One extremely anticipated Marvel Studios project that had problems way before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ It is an McU-based movie following Eric Brooks, the most notable vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the already highly popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that contributed to paving the way for the MCU that we know today.
We know that ‘Blade’ production has faced numerous rewrites and delays, and for a movie that was supposed to be released back in 2023, it sure is taking a really long time, with even the main actor, according to some reports, reconsidering his role.

Mahershala Ali has been attached to the Blade reboot for what seems like almost an eternity now. The actor’s casting was received very well. Most importantly, he is not a new face to Marvel fans, since he played Cottonmouth in Luke Cage.
The actor is very well-respected in the industry, owing to his charming personality and acting chops. However, his turn as the Daywalker in the Marvel reboot is still up in the air, with the production yet to take off. If rumors are to be believed, the film looks set to make yet another change, thereby raising questions about Ali’s possible MCU debut.

When the news came that Power Book II: Ghost was ending, I'll admit it floored me.
Since the ending of the original Power, the continued universe has seen much success. Still, being the first and a direct continuation of the original, Power Ghost has probably amassed the greatest popularity.
But they say all good things must come to an end, and the end of Ghost has me wondering what happens next for the longstanding franchise.
We know that another Power spinoff is coming; this one is a starter story for Ghost and Tommy.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan has proven to be a compelling and worthwhile look into Kanan Stark's upbringing, and considering the franchise's track record, there's no reason to believe the Ghost and Tommy spinoff will be any different.
Everything started with that duo, and it feels like a no-brainer to explore their beginnings and expand things through their backstory.

Abbott Elementary may only be on its third season, but the ABC series has already established itself as one of the best workplace sitcoms. The Emmy-winning show has all the essential ingredients of the genre: a flawed but lovable protagonist, a ridiculous boss, an ensemble full of eccentric characters, and, of course, a will-they/won’t-they? romance.
From the very beginning, viewers have rooted for Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory (Tyler James Williams) to get together. While he was clearly interested in her from the moment they chaotically crossed paths in the pilot, she was still with her long-term boyfriend Tariq (Zack Fox). As they grew closer though, their connection became undeniable, something that deserved to be fully explored.

Abbott Elementary is back with another slam-dunk episode!
Hopefully, you can forgive the pun — the basketball game intro was a great start, though. This show rarely misses, especially when it comes to its cold opens.
In Abbott Elementary Season 3 Episode 8, we explore friendships, hookups, and professional stress.
Speaking of that cold open, when Tariq said he was thinking about starting a PTA at Abbott Elementary, did anyone think he was going to?
Consider us gobsmacked when we learned that he actually did it and named himself president. Honestly, are we supposed to take Tariq seriously?
Apparently so, considering he's the moderator at the education panel that Gregory and Ava have been invited to join.
This panel is a fun dive into Ava's past. We're introduced to someone she considers her nemesis, a sorority sister named Crystal. No one is surprised when she treats the panel like a competition.

Just one day after Deadline reported that Starz boss Jeff Hirsch's plan with the network is to end costly series after about four seasons while still keeping franchises alive, news hit that Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 will be its last.
But with the bad news comes the good. Ghost will not be gone forever, as Origins will be a prequel about Tommy and Ghost before they were the men we've come to know.
In the meantime, we've also got a trailer for Ghost and thoughts about it winding down.
For someone who’s fought every comparison to his father, Tariq is certainly looking a lot like his not-so-dearly departed father.
Coming hot off the heels of the Starz announcement that the Power universe is expanding yet again in the form of a Ghost and Tommy-centric spinoff, we got the sad news that the Og spinoff will be saying goodbye.

Fans of the Power franchise are losing Ghost again — but this time, it’s the series.
Starz has canceled Power Book II: Ghost, with the show’s fourth season to serve as its last. It will be broken into two parts, premiering June 7 and September 6. Watch the teaser above.
The move was prefaced by Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch this week when he revealed plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive.
Using the Power franchise as an example, he said: “You look at the [Power] map and say, ‘Ok, if I take one of those characters out and spin one of those out, I can bring that on to replace the Power show at half the cost.’ Now I’m putting a lot of money right to the bottom line. And I’m really not losing anything in terms of acquisition costs and subscriber viewership,...

The word of the day is bureaucracy, and Janine has gotten a face full of it.
This week on Abbott Elementary Season 3 Episode 3, our favorite teachers have found themselves in some tricky conflicts.
We also got some out-of-character moments for more than one of our friends at Abbott.
The episode kicks off with a strange revelation -- Tariq is dating the mother of one of Barbara Howard's students. We're not sure how to feel about this since it means Tariq will probably be around the school more often.
Can't we leave the past behind us? Clearly not.
Barbara starts mentoring Tariq throughout the episode, which, on the surface, is super weird, but maybe that's naive.
Barbara's soft spot for her students is no secret, so why wouldn't she want to encourage Tariq to build a real relationship with his pseudo-step-child?
Even if he is being ridiculous about it.

Every now and then, a "will they, won't they" storyline comes around that gets fans riled up in all the right ways.
It's one of TV's favorite tropes. Jim and Pam from The Office, Ross and Rachel from Friends, Nick and Jess from New Girl. We're suckers for it, even if we almost always know how it's going to end.
But sometimes, we're asking the wrong questions. Maybe "Will they" or "won't they" is less important, and what we should really be asking is "Should they?"
Janine and Gregory from Abbott Elementary are two of the show's most loved characters, and fans adore their flirtatious friendship.
Their chemistry is undeniable. We've even seen a hint of action here and there, and during Abbot Elementary Season 2, the colleagues finally admitted to having feelings for one another.

Four and a half years have passed since Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige announced that a new Blade was in the works, with Mahershala Ali (Leave the World Behind) on board to play the title character. It has been a bumpy ride for the project ever since. It has passed through the hands of multiple screenwriters – Stacy Osei-Kuffour (PEN15), Michael Starrbury (When They See Us), True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto, Beau DeMayo (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf). It had a director in Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli). Tariq cast Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty) and Aaron Pierre (Old) alongside Ali – then he dropped out due to “scheduling issues”, and the character Pierre would have been playing was apparently written out of the story. Yann Demange (White Boy Rick) signed on to direct the film, Mia Goth (Pearl) was cast, possibly as the villain Lilith, and Blade was just weeks away from...

It’s so hard…to say goodbye…to yesterday.

Can you believe it's already midseason? There's something about a Power series that means it has to fly by, and this season certainly is.
While it's been a little slow at times, it's also clearly been building to something.

It’s safe to say that Marvel Studios’ Blade hasn’t had the easiest road, but things finally seem to be back on track. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Mahershala Ali provided an encouraging Blade update.
“We’re working on it. That’s the best I could tell you,” Mahershala Ali said. “I’m really encouraged with the direction of the project. I think we’ll be back at it relatively soon.“
Since Blade was first announced back in 2019, the project has gone through several creative teams. Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) was originally attached to direct Blade, but wound up stepping down, leaving Marvel to push pause on pre-production while they searched for a replacement. Yann Demange (White Boy Rick) later signed on to replace Tariq, with Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth joining the cast. Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’ has been both highly anticipated and notably problematic, making it a standout among recent projects we’ve covered. Rumors about the movie’s development initially surfaced in 2016, but it wasn’t until 2022 that production finally commenced, marking the beginning of the project’s challenges. Bassam Tariq, the original director, stepped down due to shifts in the film’s production schedule. Following Tariq’s departure, production came to a complete halt, leaving the movie in limbo, with a scheduled release date set for September 2024—an initial deadline that has since passed.
About a year ago, Yann Demange took the reins as the new director, with Michael Starrbury collaborating on a revised script. Mahershala Ali, the actor slated for the main titular role, held a genuine passion for the ‘Blade’ project. The announcement of another production shutdown, this time due to the Writers Guild of America Strike, wasn’t surprising,...

There’s a Blade reboot in the works at Marvel Studios that will see the vampire hunter get worked into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there has been some concern that this version of Blade will be watered down in comparison to the R-rated Blade films we got from New Line Cinema a couple decades ago. But during a conversation with Deadline, director Yann Demange assured fans that we don’t have to worry about seeing a PG-13 Blade movie. Like the upcoming MCU film Deadpool 3, the Blade reboot is going to be rated R!

Marvel has apparently been having a very, very hard time rebooting Blade into the MCU, which is kind of strange when you think about it. I mean, how hard is it to crack Blade? The character is pretty simple! He looks cool, he has cool weapons, and he kills vampires. That's it, really. It's not that complicated. And yet, Kevin Feige and company continue to struggle with the project, which is set to star Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali in the lead role of the Daywalker. The project, along with Ali's casting, was first announced in 2019, and it's apparently been all downhill since then.

A left-wing magazine criticized songs from The Beatles’ The White Album for being weak. John Lennon then corresponded with one of his critics and made friends with a communist activist. John’s experience inspired him to write one of his most famous solo songs.
John Lennon learned that a political magazine criticized two songs from The Beatles’ The White Album. He responded by chatting with some activists who worked for the magazine. Subsequently, the experience inspired one of his most famous socially-conscious songs.

Actor Wesley Snipes feels that he and his Blade films contributed a lot to the superhero genre of films. And he was disappointed when those contributions seemed to go highly unnoticed.
Wesley Snipes believed only a few communities gave ‘Blade’ the respect it deserved Wesley Snipes | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Snipes didn’t feel that Blade was given its just due for its influence over the film industry. Even Snipes seemed to underestimate just how big the Blade franchise would be when he was cast.
“In the beginning, my motivation for doing the first Blade project was to have fun and to do something I knew my homeboys and homegirls would absolutely love. The ones from the martial arts world. The ones from the Shaft world, and the ones who love Kung-fu and all that. We knew that would be attractive to that niche audience, but I had no idea it would have broader appeal.

It's almost become a trope that shows hit the brakes for the season in the middle of a scene, with characters in danger of death, being sent to jail, or about to accept marriage proposals.
That keeps us talking all summer long, but if the cliffhanger is strong enough, waiting for the next season to begin is torturous!
2023 brought many jaw-dropping cliffhangers. Now that the dust has settled a bit, check out our list of the most shocking ones, and let us know if we've included your favorite!
1. Chicago Med - Will Leaves The Hospital All right, so this isn't the kind of cliffhanger that makes us wonder what will happen next since Will's story is over. Still, the loss of the doctor who has been doing the wrong thing for the right reason since the series began is a big shock,...
