It was announced last year that the popular video game Ratchet & Clank would be getting a 3D feature film adaptation. Today we have a poster for that movie for you to check out.
James A. Taylor and David Kaye, who provide the voices for the characters in the game, will be reprising their roles in the film. Here’s a little breakdown of the characters and some story info.
Ratchet is the last of his kind – a foolhardy 'lombax' who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way they’ll learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one’s own identity.

About a year and a half ago, we learned from Insomniac Games that they are turning the PlayStation video game series Ratchet & Clank into an animated feature film. The film arrives sometime next year, though we don't know when, and the first teaser poster for the movie has just arrived. Basically, it looks just like a cover for any video game that might have been released, and it doesn't even clarify that this is for a movie. I'm not sure this is going to be something cool for anyone who doesn't like the video games, mostly because this looks exactly like the video game in style and execution, but it's popular, so maybe that's all it needs. Here's the poster for Rainmaker Entertainment & Blockade Entertainment's Ratchet & Clank: Directed by Jericca Cleland from a script by Tj Fixman (who penned all of the video games), Ratchet & Clank will feature James A. Taylor...

So many video game adaptations are tailored toward older audience members who want to see if Doom, Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia will translate properly to the big screen. Sure, we get the occasional Super Mario Bros. movie, but no one really wants to talk about that. Instead, audiences likely will want to get psyched up for Ratchet and Clank, which Variety says is heading to theaters in early 2015. Rainmaker Entertainment, which was behind this year.s Escape from Planet Earth, will team with Blockade Entertainment to produce the movie, which will be based on the widely popular 2002 game. Jericca Cleland will direct the film, while T.J. Fixman will pen the script. The animated film will be released in 3D. The trade says that vocal talent from the game will participate in the movie, including James A. Taylor, David Kaye and Jim Ward, who provide the voices of ...

The Ratchet & Clank video game franchise is going to get the big screen treatment! THR reports that Rainmaker Entertainment has teamed up with Blockade Entertainment to develop a 3D animated movie adventure.
The characters were introduced to the world in 2002, and they've become quite popular over the years. The most recent game is called Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, which was released last year.
I've never played these games, but they "focus on two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. Ratchet is the last of his kind, a foolhardy 'lombax' who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own, while Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn."
The movie will be directed by Jericca Cleland from a script written by Tj Fixman, who is also a senior writer for Insomniac Games.

Variety reports that Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank franchise (which has sold over 26 million copies worldwide since the first instalment was released in 2002) is being brought to the big screen by Escape from Planet Earth's Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment. With a planned release date of "Early 2015", the movie will be directed by Jericca Cleland based on a script by Tj Fixman. That should come as very good news to fans, especially as Fixman is a senior writer on the games. As if that wasn't exciting enough, key talent from the series will reprise the roles of Ratchet (James A. Taylor), Clank (David Kaye) and Qwark (Jim Ward). "We’ve always thought Ratchet and Clank would be a fantastic all-ages movie and are thrilled our intergalactic heroes will finally get their chance to shine on the big screen,”" Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games, told the site. "Insomniac...
