Natascha McElhone's mother has refused to read the actress' touching book detailing the aftermath of her husband's sudden death - because the notes are too emotional.
The Californication star was filming in Los Angeles when her plastic surgeon partner Martin Kelly suffered a cardiac arrest in May, 2008, collapsing on the doorstep of the couple's London home.
McElhone, who was pregnant with the pair's third child at the time of Kelly's death, poured out her thoughts and feelings on paper in the subsequent months and the notes were made into a book.
After You: Letters of Love, and Loss, to a Husband and Father details the birth of their son, Rex, shortly after the tragedy and other events such as Halloween with their three kids.
But McElhone's touching tribute is too sad for her mother, Noreen Taylor, to read.
She tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "I haven't been able to read it. It is just too painful. Perhaps, one day I will be able to."...
