Happy death date: Netflix’s “Manifest” Season 4, Part 2 is set to premiere on June 2, nearly eight months after Part 1’s release in November 2022. The supernatural drama series returns with its final 10 episodes that continue the stories of Montego Air Flight 828 passengers who are making the most of their second lease on life.
The first episode of Season 4, Part 2 will premiere at the Atx TV festival in early June, followed by an in-person panel with showrunner Jeff Rake and cast members.
The return of “Manifest” coincides with the show’s infamous “death date,” June 2, which has been a recurring mystery throughout the series. It was first assumed by 828 passengers that June 2, 2024 marked the day they would lose their lives, but this season revealed it to be much more serious than that, with the “death date” marking the end of the world.

The first trailer for the fourth and final season of the supernatural series Manifest is out–and the new Netflix acquisition is looking to tie up some loose ends after the season three cliffhanger.
The trailer, which Netflix released earlier today, highlights the returning characters and the dazzling special effects. Along with showcasing what will certainly be a thrilling start to the end of Manifest’s journey, one particularly brooding line will surely get fans excited: “We didn’t fly into the storm. It flew into us. It chose us.” This line alone looks to pick up where season three’s cliffhanger left off.
Manifest creator Jeff Rake originally intended the show to run for six seasons. But now that Netflix has taken over the series, they have given him 20 episodes–divided into two parts–to conclude the storylines. Rake has called this an “embarrassment of riches.” He, too, has...

Constantine Season 1, Episode 9: “The Saint of Last Resorts Part 2”
Written by Mark Verheiden
Directed by Romeo Tirone
Airs Fridays at 8 pm Et on NBC
Beginning directly after the gut-wrenching ending of the midseason finale, ” The Saint of Last Resorts Part 2″ takes one of the series’ biggest risks yet, by having John Constantine (Matt Ryan) literally bond with a demon to save his life after his old lover Anne-Marie (Claire van der Bloom) shot him because she wasn’t willing to have him sacrifice another innocent to save his skin. Constantine‘s new status quo is riveting as, possessed by the Assyrian hunger demon Pazuzu, John slaughters members of a pretty scary Mexican gang and gets thrown in prison, where Chas (Charles Halford) and Zed (Angelica Celaya) must enter and exorcise the demon, or kill him if all else fails. There is also the “Rising Darkness”, but over the course of the season,...

Constantine, Season 1, Episode 3: “The Devil’s Vinyl”
Written by David Goyer and Mark Verheiden
Directed by Romeo Tirone
Airs Fridays at 10 pm Et on NBC
The character of John Constantine is rooted in music as much as he is in magic or being a con artist. Before he was master of the dark arts, he was the frontman for Liverpool punk outfit Mucous Membrane. (Which gets a much needed shout out in this episode.) Even before he was fully fledged and named character, he was a guy in the background of Swamp Thing #25, who artist Stephen Bissette wanted to look like Sting. But enough of the origin story stuff. “The Devil’s Vinyl” is the strongest episode of Constantine to date as David Goyer and Mark Verheiden construct a plot filled with the trickery, double crosses, soul bartering, and exorcisms that were the Hellblazer comic’s stock and trade,...

After a winter hiatus, Sleepy Hollow returns with one of its most complete episodes of its first season. “Vessel” takes all of the elements which make Sleepy Hollow a good show and blends them almost perfectly. From superficial elements like Ichabod’s (Tom Mison) reactions to modern clothes and wacky, alternate takes on early American history to more serious things like fleshing out Frank’s (Orlando Jones) relationship with his family and Moloch’s larger plot. This episode also features some scenes of visceral horror and a plot that kicks into gear ten minutes into the episode and doesn’t hit the brakes until the denouement. True Blood, Season 6 – Episode 9: “Life Matters”
Directed by Romeo Tirone
Written by Brian Buckner
Airs Sunday nights at 9 on HBO
If anyone sticks around after an episode of True Blood finishes to see the “inside the episode” segment, then you’ll have seen one of the powers-at-be talk about how “Life Matters” is one instance of True Blood taking time to feel something, which hasn’t really been the show’s style ever. This is a fast-moving story (to a fault, sometimes), so you wouldn’t have been wrong to have expected there not to be much done about Terry’s death in the wake of that event. How wrong you would have been, though. “Life Matters” has at its centerpiece Terry’s funeral, which drew out a whole range of reactions – some expected, some incredibly surprising.
Beginning with the surprising, “Life Matters” really did follow through on making the viewer feel.

Despite the fact that Warlow is weak, Bill still wants him to come to save the vampires. Sookie tells him that Eric now has more of Warlow’s blood than Warlow does, so go find him. She expels him from fairy land and Bill does just that.
Eric slaughters his way through the guards until he gets into the vampire prison camp. He finds the doctor who injected Nora with hep V, rips his genitals off and leaves him to bleed out. He then releases all the vampires from gen pop and tells them to take revenge on their tormentors. And boy do they. Many are put through the same tortures that they put the vampires through (dental experiments, watching a human run naked on the hamster wheel) but most are just slaughtered brutally. Dexter, Season 8, Episode 5, ‘This Little Piggy’
Written By Scott Reynolds
Directed By Romeo Tirone
Airs Sundays, 8pm on Showtime
Just like an inherently destructive loved one; infuriating you, disappointing you, breaking your heart, only keeping the bond alive with rare flashes of nostalgic familiarity, then finally sucking you back in when the exit door looks inevitable with the palpable suggestion that things, finally, will be as great as they can be. Such is the existence of the loyal fan, forever questioning whether that connection you share with a material that once seemed life affirming is an irrationally emotional one. It is apt that last night’s episode of Dexter vaguely centered on the significance of family, because at times this show seems, appropriately enough, like the proverbial black sheep.
After the intellectually confusing previous installment, ‘This Little Piggy’ had a severe weight of expectation on it shoulders and for the most part,...

Deb and Dexter are being counseled by Dr. Vogel. Dexter is mad in a way that I don’t think we have ever seen him before. He’s not just mad, but he is hurt. Deb is genuinely apologetic. Vogel sees this as a positive: Deb trying to kill her and Dexter was her hitting rock bottom; Deb saving her brother was her first step towards recovery. Dexter wants to get back to catching a killer - “according to you that’s all I’m good for.”
For the first time, Dexter is happy that Deb won’t be at work. He is ignoring her calls, deleting her voicemails, and is looking forward to locking himself in his lab. But first, he has to go to the morning briefing. Batista is...

Rectify Season 1, Episode 5 ‘Drip, Drip’
Directed by Romeo Tirone
Written by Ray McKinnon
Airs Mondays at 9pm Et on Sundance Channel
‘Drip, Drip’ opens with Daniel Holden unable to sleep. It’s 3:14 in the morning, so he sneaks out his window and starts walking down the road, where a scrubby-looking man picks him up, and asks him for help with a project. He says yes, and the two proceed to steal some goats. They then sleep in a truck, look at a statue, and wrestle in a field before they drive back to town and Daniel gets dropped off at his stepfather’s business. Before he gets dropped off, he stares incredulously at the unshaven, pot smoking man in the driver’s seat, and asks him a simple, silly-sounding question about the stolen goats:
“Are you going to run them off a cliff – like swine?”
Now, without reading the Bible,...

You may or may not know this, but Dexter writer and producer Scott Reynolds hosts a weekly "Dexter Wrap-Up" podcast for Showtime, during which he answers fans' questions and interviews everyone from director Romeo Tirone to star Jennifer Carpenter to guest star Ray Stevenson. Following last night's penultimate episode of Dexter, Reynolds sits down for a rare interview with star Michael C. Hall.
"It's the longest interview with him that he's ever had," Reynolds told me of the hour-long interview. "We go deep into Dexter. He really explains a lot about Dexter Morgan and his relationships. It's great. I think people are really going love it, because [Michael] doesn't talk about stuff a lot. He's a very private guy - and rightly so. But he opened up a lot. It's pretty exciting."...

Dexter, Season 7, Episode 8: “Argentina”
Written by Arika Lissane Mittman
Directed by Romeo Tirone
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on Showtime
Last night’s Dexter could just as easily be called ‘There’s No Place Like Home’, such was the focus on daunting realizations and lack of closure brought up by its train of thought. By taking a quiet moment to reflect on the darkening storm engulfing the main players, it becomes increasingly clear just how far from sweet comfort they truly are, and how much has changed for the worse and nightmarish.
Torn between loyalty and his own budding feelings, Dexter rejects Debra’s order to kill Hannah McKay under the pretence that he is looking to avoid his sister’s collusion in dark deeds, a course of action which sadly doesn’t change the fact that Isaak still wants him dead. The powerful mobster’s increasingly reckless pursuit...

So far we're about 50% on board with this season of "True Blood". The Authority stuff is great, we can't wait for Russell's return, and of course we love anything Pam does, but the rest? Eh, not so much. Check out a preview of the upcoming Episode 5.04, "We'll Meet Again", and hope for the best next Sunday!

Dexter Episode 607 "Nebraska" Written By: Wendy West Directed By: Romeo Tirone Original Airdate: 13 November 2011 In This Episode... Deb brings Dexter into her office to tell him that Trinity has struck again, in Nebraska, this time killing his wife Sally and daughter Rebecca. Son Jonah claims he was attacked, but fought him off. Naturally, Dexter assumes Jonah is the killer since he killed Trinity. Dexter is torn, though, because Jonah was always very close with his sister and mother. Brian, now taking Harry's place as Dexter's "spirit guide" (or imaginary friend, or whatever you want to call him) reminds him that homicidal tendencies may very well be...

After the last two weeks, things were starting to tie together in a satisfying manner but this week, once again, some of the plot threads seem to have broken free and are flapping around loose. That said, there’s no shortage of incident in this slightly shorter than most episode (54 minutes instead of the usual 59).
Initially, we dispense with last week’s cliff-hanger almost as swiftly as the week before’s and, in next to no time, Sookie is back to her petulant, self-obsessed self.
Briefly, as he tends to her, we get to see Bill’s eyes filled with all the pain and pathos we’ve missed this series. Obviously Stephen Moyer doesn’t have to act loving Anna Paquin, but it was still nice to see some real chemistry, since there’s none discernible in Eric’s pole-axed puppy-dog. After much consideration, I’ve...

It's another Monday, which of course means it's time to rehash last night's "True Blood" a bit. Personally I thought it was one of the weakest entries of the season, but with just three eps to go, I'm holding out hope things will improve as we approach the finale. Here are a recap and "Inside the Episode" look at "Let's Get Out of Here" along with a preview of next week's "Burning Down the House".
In this edition of "Inside the Episode" writer Brian Buckner and director Romeo Tirone discuss threesome dreams, baby snatching, and Eric's dangerous new mission.
Episode #46 (S4, Ep. 10): “Burning Down the House,” Sunday, August 28
Bill needs Sookie to use her powers, which results in breaking a spell. Jessica is implored to glamour Jason. Terry tries to help Andy with an intervention. Alcide reassesses his loyalties. Bill organizes the vampires to attack Marnie's Moon Goddess Emporium while Jesus,...
