Credited for playing "other instruments" on the liner notes for The
Cure's 1989 album "Disintegration," but confirmed to have contributed
nothing.
Co-founder and former member of luminary post-punk band The Cure, for whom he played
drums (1976-1981), keyboards (1982-1985), and "other instruments"
(1986-1989). He's attempted a solo comeback twice in the 1990s, but both
were flops.
Unsuccessfully attempted to sue Smith in 1994 for the co-ownership of
the band's name, which he claimed he and Smith came up with jointly.
Was fired from The Cure by Robert Smith in 1989 for breach of contract after
he became increasingly unwilling to contribute to the band in any way,
but didn't want to quit because he was obligated by the band's
recording contract to be paid for any works they produced, whether he
was involved in their production or not.
He produced the first two single releases and the debut album of the
cult British rock band And Also the Trees, which were released in 1983.
