The actress Luise Ullrich set early the course of her life to the acting. She attended an acting education at the Academy for Music and Arts at the age of 14, one year later she got her first engagement at the Volksbühne Wien in the play "Heimat".
She had her breakthrough with the movie "Liebelei" (33), which catapulted her to a popular star in no time.
After 1964 she retired from the film business more or less and dedicated to the theater. She only worked sporadically for the TV, especially her role in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's serial "Acht Stunden sind kein Tag" (72) stood out.
She won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 1941 Venice Film Festival.
