October 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Rating: 1.5 out of 5*
Starring: Jackie Shroff, Smriti Irani, Rajeshwari Sachdeva, Zarina Wahab, Govind Namdeo and Shakti Kapoor
Director: Deepak Balraj Vij
We fail to understand why did the makers of this film attempt a film on the great saint of Shirdi, Sai Baba when they lacked every single good aspect related to making a decent ode to him. Maalik Ek is more of an insult to the great saint than anything else.
Narrated in a flashback mode from the conversations between Dwaraka Mai (Smriti Irani) and Laxmi (Divya Dutta), Maalik Ek tells the story of Sai Baba (Jackie Shroff) who is a beggar but a loved one by all thanks to.

October 26, 2010: This Friday the audience will have an array of films to choose from, ranging from homosexuality, spirituality, and a romantic thriller. There will be Shirdi Sai Baba, two gay lovers and a love story of two people who are poles apart.
There will Maalik Ek, a film that might just work for Jackie Shroff as it is bringing him back to the silver screen as a protagonist. He will play the role of Shirdi Sai Baba, the role will see the 50-year-old actor in a totally different avatar. Maalik Ek is directed by Deepak Balraj Vij, and will also have powerhouse performers like Divya Dutta, Rohini Hattangadi and Manoj Kumar.
Another film, which might not garner much of an audience, is Nakshatra..

Jackie Shroff, who plays Sai Baba in Maalik Ek, admits that he had to be pursued for six months to play the role. Reportedly, the film was supposed to be released in 2008. It couldn’t have been.
