The 'Dear John' actor will play a forger who falls in love with a beautiful woman with a dark secret in the project, based on the novel by Craig Clevenger. Channing Tatum has landed a role in "The Contortionist's Handbook", a movie adaptation of Craig Clevenger's novel with the same title. Beside tackling the lead role, the 30-year-old actor is also set to produce alongside Reid Carolin, Sriram Das, John Penotti, Tim Williams and Sidney Kimmel, Deadline Hollywood reports.

The story revolves around John Vincent (Tatum), a boy born with six-fingers, whose disfigurement leads to an interest in sleight of hand and, as he grows older, an exceptional skill at committing crimes and taking on new identities. He avoids getting caught by moving from identity to the next, but that could come to an end when he falls for a beautiful woman with her own dark secret.
